Adding .tpl files using a custom global template

Hullo!

I have created a custom global template following this post;

http://forums.cubecart.com/index.php?showt...mp;hl=add+pages

The idea is for a bunch of custom pages to be accessible via a custom menu in the left sidebar.

The custom menu will disappear when the shop is accessed and the standard global template takes over.

I am not sure if this is the correct approach but what I did was;

I renamed a .tpl file from 'skins/myskin/styleTemplates/content' folder, added it to my 'index.inc.php' as in the thread above, and then linked to that file from the custom menu.

Thinking that I would be able to edit the new .tpl file to my needs.

However, when clicking the link a page loads, the URL shows the correct filename, but the page is not updated to reflect my edit.

The body of the page shown appears to be index.php (Welcome to your new store)

If I use an existing .tpl file in the same way ( eg viewProd as used in the thread mentioned above) it loads fine, showing viewProd page.

I hope this is clear.

Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong, please?

TFL,

Rich.
