Chris Short answer- no, not without extra coding. This can be done, but it not trivial. If you need the importer to run weekly/daily, then it should remove products that are no longer in the feed. It may need to download images from a remote site, and create the thumbnail and main product image. It may also need to create new categories as required. I've done most of this on one of my stores- but there is a lot of work to do a good job. If its for a single category, and a single 1-off import, then its not too much work for a PHP/mySQL developer- probably 2 or 3 hours.
