Can customers edit orders?

Hi

I wonder if anyone knows this?

If a customer adds a product to their basket, is there any way they can edit that product.

Say for instance, if a customer adds a product to the basket that they have set a few product options e.g.:

Gift Box

Colour: Blue

Personal message: "Hope you like this gift box John"

If the customer notices on the checkout page that they have made a mistake and the personal message should have been for Peter or the box should have been orange. Instead of deleting the product from their basket/checkout and starting again, can they just edit it instead?

If a customer has spent time choosing specific options for a product and the only way they can amend their choices is to delete and start again, there's a good possibility of losing a lot of customers here.

Maybe I'm missing an option in the admin here?
