v4.3.6 Problem

A few days back we had a bit of an odd bug one on clients store.. all three of their sites were spontaneously down to varying extents, admin not working, page content loading but the bar would be stuck near the end and continually transferring til it timed out.

Turns out that the problem was with a file, includes/functions.db.inc.php, which was just not working at all and causing the scripts to hang when required..

The file was being included at the bottom of the index page and at the top of the admin page, it's all encrypted up in various ways so no clue what it was actually doing.

Thing is, we've checked our archived copy of the CC4.3.6 download and it includes the file inside it, so we know that the store hasn't been hacked and had it planted in that way, it was in the actual version download it seems.

I've attached the file anyway (we've run multiple virus scans on it so there doesn't appear to be any inherent danger to the file), but if someone could take a look at it and let us know if either it's some kind of hack, or whether it was just a file that was then bugfixed out (I've checked the current 4.3.6 download on the site, it doesn't have the file in there anymore).
