First time MySQL user

Hi Guys

I would lie to use CUBE as a shopping cart for my web site but it looks like Ihave to buy MySQL at around £500 in order to create the database for the system.Is this true or can I create the basic tables another way? My server supports MySQL databses and as I understand it, table maintenance is done via the website code.

Can someone give me the basics of what I need in order to use Cube.

If your server supports Mysql Databases I don't get it you need to buy MySQL

Who said you need to buy Mysql ? Your Host ?

Hi, I assume that you want to install cc3, in which case you will first have to down load it to your pc.

Then, using an ftp program, such as ftp commander Internet-Softyou will have to upload all of the files contained in the "upload" folder to your servers "www" directory, or any subdirectory, eg "store".

Now you will need to:-

1 Create a database MySql using the database manager in your control panel.

2Create a database user and then assign that user to the newly created database

Make a note of the database name, the username and the password as you will need these during the install process.

i have installed cubecart on the web and locally on my pc under win xp
