  1. Yes Alan, you have described exactly what I mean.

It is indeed against PayPal terms to show on your store or invoice that there is a surcharge for using their service. It should be noted that if you do you will break the terms and have no protection against chargebacks. PayPal probably intoduced this because of their link with Ebay as thousands of sellers were making surcharges.

    This is from their terms.

".7 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services, as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions. Nothing in this Agreement is intended to affect the legal right of a merchant in the UK to impose a surcharge for a debit or credit card transaction under the Credit Cards (Price Discrimination) Order 1990. "

The last statement " Nothing in this Agreement is intended to affect the legal right of a merchant in the UK to impose a surcharge for a debit or credit card transaction under the Credit Cards (Price Discrimination) Order 1990". is confusing because customers are actually using debit and credit cards, maybe someone can clarify what affect this has on PayPals terms?

  2. Hi,

I have seen the courier tracking field on the edit order page and I was wondering how you would supply tracking for a customers order. It asks for a URL, would that just be to the couriers website, or can we actually display the customers tracking number which they can then go on to track it at the couriers website?

It depends, some couriers show the process of a delivery on a single webpage, you just copy and past that url into the field. Or you can use the url that takes you to the home page or tracking page of your courier, and then provide the customer with their tracking number via the "notes to send to customer" field in admin. The customer will see the tracking link when they log into their account.

  3. You should move your old installation first and make sure it is working correctly on the new server before you go ahead with the upgrade. Once its working as it should, take another backup and the carry out the upgrade, personally I would ftp all the files and not extract the zip. You have to see the offer to upgrade as you install, otherwise you done something incorrectly.

  4. You could try removing everything from $config['rootRel_SSL'] and $config['storeURL_SSL'] if your not using ssl

By the way in cubecart 4 the admin is accessed with admin.php on the end of the url not just admin, cant see it making a difference because you apear to be getting to the correct page but just so its correct.

  5. To use the add order in admin the customer has to already be in the database. So you have to add the customer first. Once you do this you can select the customer from the drop down top right and if you use firefox it automaticly adds the customers details, if using IE it doesn't (bug).
