Guest
I managed to get a hold of the script for this online shopping cart: http://www.naxtor-cart.com/index.php I have compared quite a few of the files and found them to be remarably similar to Cube Cart, in fact I would go so far as to say that one is a direct copy of the other, but not in looks! I am totally new to PHP and modding, but found it very simple to alter the code within Naxtor to contain some of the mods that CC has!!! Anyone shed any light on this....? Al Brookbanks
Hello MiniMe, How did you manage to get the source code? It seems like just an online store to me?? p.s. theres no date for CubeCart3 yet.
Guest
It sure does look the same, very close anyway. The demo for the cart is http://www.naxtor.com.au/products/demo.html Even the admin screens look the same but I didn't see where to add options. Also very expensive! Guest
The back-end looks a lot like cubecart. Missing a few features though.
Al Brookbanks
Indeed the backend is almost identicle with same get variables and file names. This is very suspicious although I cannot acuse withour hard evidense. What I will say though is that if this is the case they would be the third company I have found to be stealing our intelectual property.
Guest stijnj
hmzz if anyone has this script please email this to me, I would like to compare the files to cubecarts' The back-end does look like a CC-rip to me. edit:wow this store can be purchased at $ 350 or can be leased at $55 a month... thats greedy Stijn
Guest
The back-end looks a lot like cubecart. Missing a few features though. It does lack in a few areas, although on the whole the code is nearly the same as Brooky's. With my limited knowledge of PHP I was able to add some of the features into the backend... For example, with CC you can add a picture (thumbnail) for the category, but with Naxtor you cannot.... I modded Naxtor to enable me to add the pictures/icons quite easily!!!!!!!! MiniMe Oh... and as for where I got the source.... can't say, but it was for an unscrupulous place that I frequent!!! <_<
Guest
Just a little update on this one.... I have changed only 1 line of code (and a few images) on nearly all of these pages to make this script work with my CC database. If he has stole brooky's code... I'm gonna plagarise his grafix!!!! Al Brookbanks
LOL its sounds very much like they have. I will send them a shitty email.
Guest
They shouldn't be allowed to do this. Is there nothin that can be done if it is indeed stolen. And the price, littly hefty condiering it's a copy of cubecart which is free (Thank you brooky!! ).
Al Brookbanks
I have checked out their code and a large proportion of the files are identical.
Guest
Like I say... All I had to change was this line: query( "DELETE FROM ".$prefix."store_shopping WHERE ...."); to query( "DELETE FROM ".$prefix."cart_store_shopping WHERE ....'"); and a few gfx and the damn thing integrates well BIG coincidence or what? Guest
BTW... Brooky, Where is this forum and your site hosted? It appears nice and fast and at times mine seems sooooo slow! I think I may change to a UK host! M (Sorry about off topic)
Guest stijnj
I checked the code and the admin section is pure CubeCart sad sad sad... And if you look at the prizes they have... just a f***ing ***hole company
Al Brookbanks
There are two other companies doing this too. :'( BTW MiniMe this site is hosted on a dedicated server at http://www.dedipower.co.uk and there are only three websites on our server. We have a 40GB hard disk and the data center is based in reading. All for £600 a year.
Al Brookbanks
I can confirm that the majority of code is stolen from CubeCart. It also doesnt work with Register Globals Off. http://dev2.cubecart.com

Guest
Hello, It says on their site that the cart was/is ecart.. Did ecart have the same license as CubeCart? Just asking as I had never heard of ecart before. Chris
Al Brookbanks
Yes eStore had the same license as CubeCart. I have never heard of eCart either. eStore was CubeCarts predecessor. We changed the name as it had no individuality. ;)
Guest
Ahh... I see. That was my mixup.. When I read ecart on their site, I confused that with estore.. I forgot estore and cubcart are the same.. Not sure why I was thinking ecart.. Chris
