Error Gd.inc.php On Line 48 When Uploading Images

I had an old Cube Cart version 3.15 and had to moved servers and upgraded to 3.17

every thing works great except for when i try to add/upload a new product image

i get the error below and it all stops unfinished.

All permissions are set ok ...images / uploads / thumbs all set to 777

would any one have any suggestions ???

In your store's admin section, Server Info page, do you see a section headed "gd"?

Maybe on your new server you have not included/enabled gd support in the php.ini file.

Thank you for your help the settings in that section are exactly the same as the old one..

Allow GIF Support: (Please make sure this is enabled on your server) Yes

Thumbnail Size: 75

Max Image Size: 390

GD Image Quality:80

(60 - 80 recommended)

Uh, no. That's your GD Settings Panel on the General (Store) Settings page.

Go to the bottom of the admin's navigation stack and click where it says:

Misc

* Server Info

It's right under

* Site Documents

On the Server Info page, scroll through the list of installed PHP extensions and see if the "gd" extension is listed.
