Dirty Butter
I see there's an option to use memcache built into Store Settings>Advanced. Is this a replacement or adjunct to the CC cache system? Is it superior to CC's cache? Is it hard to install/setup? I use HostGator, and I am pretty sure it's compatible with my hosting package. I don't want to deal with HostGator support unless it's worth the effort.
SimChris
Memcached is caching system running above your domain at root server level, accessed via the memcache php extension. Some systems use APC for caching vs memcached (as ours does), and this does speed everything up. We are using APC above the domain, then the normal CC caching for local caching issues. But we have small ecom install. That likely doesn't help, but thought I'd share while poking about to see about the new update today :-)
