    Server Restored

    Hello,

    Some kind individual named "Sim" hacked our server through a security hole and managed to destroy a large amount of data. Luckily as we take regular backups very little data (a few hours only) have been lost.

    Thanks to you all for your patience as we have fixed this annoyance. Appologies that it has taken so long but the timing was very bad.

    Hi Folks,

    Yes there are security holes in cubecart like any script although I have not heard of a hacked CubeCart before. As it doesn't store any credit card details or anything then this is not disasterous just an inconveniance if it happens (like getting a virus).

    If you take regular backups you will be fine.

    I personally keep 2 weeks worth of SQL and site backups which runs everynight under a custom Cron Job.

    If you have shared hosting this may not be possible.

    DOOM III Linux Server

    Hello folks...

    I'm a bit of a gaming virgin but would like to setup a CubeCart DOOM III server.

    This site is on a dedicated server in the UK with 3 spare IP addresses. Does any one know how to set this up or can point me where to learn how??!?

    Is this a good idea?

    There could be a CubeCart community DOOM III masacre!!?? :D

    Selling a script

    There are many ways and its generally a big headache. Protecting intellectual property is next to impossible. I guese thst the beauty of Open Source.... You can't protect it. :D

    There are many hosts who can offer pay per download and that their cut. You could however build somekind of PayPal IPN script which allows users say 2 download attempts after purchase. This sounds tricky but it is not. Just stick the archive in a folder above the public_html one. Then if payment is successful grant the user access to a script which read off the file and reads/downloads it out of the browser.

    YOu could offer a Zend encoded version as a trial. I know many cowboy companies that do that with CubeCart! :)

    Below is a screen shot of the site documents section of the admin system for CubeCart 3. (Click 'Read More' if you can't see it.)

    N.B. It is still very early days and these screenshots are subject to change and show only a limited amount of features.

    This features a very powerful rich text editor with the facility for unlimited image uploads, tables, emoticons and a whole lot more.

    Please be patient as development continues and a release date will be announced as soon as possible. We do however expected this to be early next year.

    Hello folks.

    CubeCart is still in very very early days and I have to stress as it says in our license agreement that no support is offered in a license purchase. We get a phenominal amount of emails every day which is growing exponentially and we simply can't answer them all. Please only purchase a license when you are completely happy with the product. :) Thats why there is a 100% complete trial. You can't be fairer than that. :D

    I'm sorry CubeCart hasn't worked for you, however your license key will be valid with the next release version which will be FAR superior in every sense.
