Guest
Interesting... ;-o I tripped across this thread by searching for 'Hacked' and got to read all about the new-year nightmare several months ago. This thread seems to be talking about another hack. Can someone point me to the thread discussing it? Looking at osCommerce, ZenCart and CubeCart all at once, and I was on the osCommerce site at 2:45 this morning and saw the offline messge and just went away. I just downloaded all 3 in the past 24 hours. 8-( Do I need to wait a while and see what patches are developed before i start installing test versions of the shopping carts, or is this a simple enough patch to apply after some preliminary tests? -Carl
Al Brookbanks
No, no, no you've got it all wrong. There are no known issues in CubeCart or OSCommerce/Zencart as far as I know. Feel free to test all three and see how you get on.
Guest
Thanks! I'm happy to hear that it wasn't an exploit of the carts. But, as my background covers 34+ years in high tech, including system and product security on mainframes and enterprise unix environments, you've piqued my interest. What was hacked? The invision bb? (I saw a reference somewhere on a phpBB exploit, so I'd not be surprised.) Thanks again for calming my fears about the shopping cart systems. -Carl
Guest EverythingWeb
Carl, Yes it was an issue with the Invision Board Forum software. The latest update/patch was applied which fixed this issue. Thank You.
