Resolved - Need Help Tweaking Sales Tax Choice in Admin Product Listi

All our items require Sales Tax, but our shipping is not taxed. In order to get USPS shipping module to handle shipping correctly I had to create a Tax Exempt Tax Status. That screen is the only place it gets used.

This was not a problem until 5.1.1, as now Please Select always comes up first for Tax Class when I create a new listing. It just adds one more step to go through for an already tedious process to create a listing.

Is there an easy way to fix this?

You could just remove that line.

Also, I thought it was possible to make a tax class apply just to Goods and not Shipping. Or do I have that wrong?

Thanks, Viola. I commented that line out and it worked. You're right. There is a place to make the tax class apply only to goods (I have that set), but it didn't work properly for me at the time I originally set this up. I've not tried to fiddle with the way I have it working, so it may well be that I could use the normal way with the current CC version.
