Guest Dan Lindley
Hi there; 2 questions in one, and hopefully this will be the last time (as the website is starting to really look neat). First, is it possible to have the accordion menu restore after an interval when the mouse has moved off the link. As it stands at the minute , the menu remains in the collapsed mode and consequently displays a lot of product cats until the page is refreshed or a link is clicked. Secondly. rather than the last 8 products to be added to the DB to be shown on the home page, is it possible to change this to 8 different random products? Any help regarding this matter would be kindly appreciated thanks and regards dan
bsmither
The accordion menu has been a tricky thing. I think someone came up with some jQuery code that should properly close-up the menu when the mouse is no longer hovering over any list item or sub-list item. I don't know about a time-delay, but such things are possible with jQuery. I think the accordion menu script code is in the skin's js folder. The "Latest Product's" is manually selected by you for each product (Edit Product, General tab, "Include in Latest Products"). There may have been some discussion about pulling out some random products -- but then it wouldn't be "latest". The number of products shown in this area is also selectable. Guest Dan Lindley
Yeah the "Latest Products" is not what the customer whats, a selection of random products would benefit them more. also, something we discussed this morning was that it would be nice if once we hve random products, to have the same on each of the category pages showing random products that fall within that category. So if you go into speakers it would show a few random speakers that fall within the subcategories of speakers and nothing else. just a thought anyway.
