Michaeljm
Hi,I have a question regarding Merge to file function. What is this? As I understand its a function that copy the lan-defines to a lan-file on the server. Is this correct? I tried making the file -> download it -> translate some words and uploading it(by replace the existing one) but the translations does not take effect. Am I doing anything wrong? It ref. to the help documentation - but where do I find this? Best regards, Michaelhttp://www.hardware-store.dk
Al Brookbanks
I *should* say if you click the help link. It takes the data out of the database and creates a file in the /languages folder with the name with postfix "-custom". If you choose replace it will overwrite an existing file without "-custom" in the name. The idea here is that if you make changes to an existing language you can save the changes out to a file say if you wanted to copy the changes to another CubeCart install. Say your new language is "AA-aa". If you merge it with no options it saves as; AA-aa-custom.xml If you replace you get; AA-aa.xml (overwriting one if it exists). If you compress it will save it as a gzipped file. I hope thats not confusing.
Michaeljm
Okay thanks for the answer. Great so actually I can use it the otherway around as well? I mean: I can Merge to a file Download the file from FTP Change the words I want changed(All Phrase Group in one file makes it easyer to locate words by search) Use the "upload/import Language" and trick "overwrite if already exist" And then save. Would that work?Best regards,Michaelhttp://www.hardware-store.dk
Al Brookbanks
Yes that should work fine.
