Rich Text Editor.

Hi everyone.

I have as good as finished setting up my whole shop in Cubecart 6.2.9, bar for one thing: The Welcome on the homepage.

I can't make heads or tales out of the Rich Text Editor in the admin panel.

I have made 3 slider images of the same size, uploaded them to images, tried to replace them in the RTE in a number of ways, but no luck at all.

I know the original images are in the skin folder in a folder called /examples and I have tried uploading my images there, no luck.

I also tried the popup image properties and the "BROWSE SERVER", but all that happens is that a transparent window opens, showing my image, but further there is nothing I can do with it.

I also read something in another topic about this having something to do with the database (which I checked as well), but I wasn't 100% sure how it could help me to solve the problem.

I have learned a lot about and achieved much with Cubecart in the last few days, but this seems a hurdle I can't overcome on my own.

Could anyone help me clear this up, please?

Many thanks in advance.

The "Browse Server" button should bring up a window that shows a File Picker very similar to admin, Images page. To go directly to showing an image may be a new thing with CC629 -- I haven't explored that version in detail yet.

But let's use the editor's Source mode to get your task finished. Then we can explore the Image Properties box later.

Switch the editor to Source mode. The button to do that is the left-most button on the top toolbar of the editor.

You will see the raw HTML and will look something like:

<li><a href="{$STORE_URL}/tesa31.html"><img src="skins/foundation/images/examples/slide1.jpg" title="Promotional Message One" /></a></li>
<li><img src="skins/foundation/images/examples/slide2.jpg" /></li>
<li><img src="skins/foundation/images/examples/slide3.jpg" title="Promotional Message Two" /></li>

Replace the <img src> property with the location of the images you want to use.

Save the edit and have Cubecart clear its internal cache (see the lit button at top-right).

First of all, thank you for your reply.

I had indeed forgotten to mention the file selector that pops up first.

The thing I describe happens after selecting my file.

I'll try your solution now and then report back to you.

Thank you again.

From the File Picker, click the on the image name (a link) to view that image. To choose that image as the one to use -- thus placing its path in the URL text entry field, click the little "white plus in green circle" icon at the extreme right of the line item.

Continuing with the Image Properties box, be sure to clear out the Height and Width boxes, and the 'title' to the image is on the Advanced tab.
