Guest shoppgirl
I am wanting to add photos in my bulk e-mail (in cube cart administration). Is there anyway to do this without adding the <img src=".........> and having the customer click on the html? I think this looks a little tacky... I am just wanting to add a physical photo with possibly the link embedded. Thank you, Linda
Guest
The cubecart mass-mailer sends in plain text, which cant display pictures.. as the name says, its "plain text". You'd have to export your email addresses and send with something such as Outlook or a mailing list management program. as for how to export your email addy's, beats me... its 2am so i might have a look in the morning if some1 else doesnt beat me to it. Al Brookbanks
In CubeCart 3 you can send very complex and powerful html messages. You can even build then in a wysiwyg html editor such as DReamweaver and paste the source code in to the FCKEditor. With a bit of knowledge and experience you will be able to make some very very impressive eFlyers.

Linda That is what we are all here for One thing about HTML emails tho.... most people and most email clients have spam blockers and use it heavily therefore your html email will most likely be blocked by the spam filter and some people (yes there are still people who do not know how to use it) won't even check their 'junk mail' folder to see if your email is in there. A piece of advise maybe noted to your customers to allow your domain to receive emails. Mobie
Al Brookbanks
I would say that html email is by far more powerful so it may be worth the incompatibility / spam for some over not getting the word out. Hope that makes sense. Plain Text email can be deleted immediately without even knowing what it was. An html email may get a message accross even if they promptly delete it. rule of thumb I think... Make important email s plain text, e.g. Invoices etc. Make marketing emails rich text.

Guest shoppgirl
DReamweaver and paste the source code in to the FCKEditor Brooky, May I ask what a FCKEditor is? I do have access to Dreamweaver, so once I have my e-mail template in place within Dreamweaver I can copy and past this into my bulk e-mailer through cube cart administration??? Other than finding a fix to my e-mails, I am in a bit of a pickle....... I did not create my site, I contracted someone to do it for me. I gave him the graphics and suggested how I wanted it to look and he did the coding and built in cube cart for me around my grapics or vice versa. Meaning, I do not know the ins and outs of the website building, interpretations of language etc... so at times it is hard for me to understand A piece of advise maybe noted to your customers to allow your domain to receive emails My customers have the option to check if they want to receive my e-mails, will this enable my e-mails to come through? Hope I haven't confused ALL of you Linda
Guest
Brooky, May I ask what a FCKEditor is? I do have access to Dreamweaver, so once I have my e-mail template in place within Dreamweaver I can copy and past this into my bulk e-mailer through cube cart administration???No this will not, the FCK editor is the area within the admin panel where you can create html emails. So, as soon as you are done building your html email within dreamweaver you can copy all and paste it into the window in admin panel where you can send emails. Hope my wording is understandable A piece of advise maybe noted to your customers to allow your domain to receive emails My customers have the option to check if they want to receive my e-mails, will this enable my e-mails to come through? NO, this will only enable whether they want to receive emails or not. Somwhere on your page you need to let them know to enable their email client (i.e. Outlook) to allow your domain for receiving your emails. You can do this in the registration.php for instance. I'm running out of time other wise I would show you where you can edit this. As soon as I'm back I can show you if nobody else has already done so Mobie

Guest
I think there may be a small amount of confusion here about the FCKEditor. The FCKEditor is included standard in CC V.3 ONLY. It is a rich text editor that allows you to use more than the plain text of a standard textarea box [the default for CC V.2+] shopgirl, if you are using version 2-anything, you will not have access to the FCKEditor unless you or your designer have installed the FCKEditor mod. Additionally, the FCKEditor allows you to create rich text, or html emails ... if you do not know html! However, html CAN be used in plain text textarea description boxes. So if you are creating your emails in Dreamweaver, you should still be able to copy and paste your Dreamweaver-gene3rated html in the message area box in the mailing section, meaning you wouldn;t have to go to the trouble of installing an extra mod. Shouldn't she?

Shouldn't she? Absolutely true! FCK editor is only available in CCv3 however there is a FREE fck editor available for integration in CCv2xx ...... Anyway to come back to my explanation on where you can add text to tell your customer to allow emails from you; find around line 362-265 <tr bgcolor=\"$colour_1\"> <td> </td> <td>$la_account_no_emails<input type=\"checkbox\" name=\"perm\" value=\"N\" ";if($perm=="N"){echo"checked";}echo"></td> </tr> and replace it with this: <tr bgcolor=\"$colour_1\"> <td> </td> <td>$la_account_no_emails<input type=\"checkbox\" name=\"perm\" value=\"N\" ";if($perm=="N"){echo"checked";}echo"><br>$la_account_allow_email</td> </tr> AND put this into your english.inc.php around line 97: $la_account_allow_email = "<font color='#FF0000' size='1'>(Please set your email client or spam filter to receive emails from YOURDOMAIN.COM)</font>"; Make sure you edit the YOURDOMAIN.COM into your domain name. Change the whole text to any of your liking for that matter In the end it will look something like this: Mobie
Guest Dave Gard
I am wanting to add photos in my bulk e-mail (in cube cart administration). I am just wanting to add a physical photo with possibly the link embedded. Thank you, Linda Hi Linda, Your queries is over a year old, so you may never read this. My own experience of selling using email shots has lead me to the current state of never using pictures in my mail shots. The reason for this... I found I was being filtered on the name of the picture file. I find that a link with description is more effective. Good luck, David
