  1. bsmither, you are my new BFF!! Your solutions seem a little over my "paygrade" so I am taking the cowards way out - edit the CC6 front page slide show to communicate my messages to the masses. I appreciate your assistance very much!! Thank you!
  2. Transitioning a customer from an old site (non CC) to CC6 and want to announce this as the opening page. I want to be able to "Click-Here" to go to the CC site. Is there an easy to do this? When I name the landing page index.html, and rename CC^'s index.php to 2index.php, all seems to work - but navatition inside CC^ results in 404 errors... I need a little help from my friends...
  3. Yea. that's it. I remember this from way back in '05 when we had to pay to remove it! edit - Now tell us how to insert this in the CC-V6 Foundation skin...
  4. kealan - That is a great idea! A professional logo would be a better idea! I like the way you think!
  5. 2 thoughts on this- 1-Take it off and allow the client to think that I did all this myself... 2-Leave it on so I can blame my shortcomings on CC... while I ask you guys for assistance... Seriously, This is one fantastic product!! I feel leaving it on is the least I can do to show my appreciation. I worked with CC in 2005 when one could pay a fee to remove it. I was very shocked to find it totally free now... (It is, isn't it?) (Not trying to start any arguments - If disagreed with, I will not defend my position. It is clear enough from the start!)
  6. Put the editor in source mode.. I never knew... and, it was the first choice (upper left button) on the editor's menu/toolbar... WOW, again! I learn something valuable every time I read these forums. Now I can probably be more effective (or dangerous). I wound up deleting the cube directory and reinstalling everything. It was only a test bed. If I had known about this source editor I would have taken a different path. Thanks to both of you for you assistance and attention. Here is what I am working on. Still have some work to do- http://107.152.104.205/~pvcsports/
  7. Yes, that is the document - the Homepage. I have no idea what I did wrong. I think I will just reload and be much more careful in my future "surgery". That rich text editor and I have been going in circles...It seems to have a mind of it's own. I set text for one style and it changes it to be what it wants - including the line above and below, sometimes... We can close my part of this thread,. I'm sure I will be provided with the opportunity to start or join another real soon. All this having been said, I think this (CC V6) is one great product, and I appreciate your support!! ediit - followup - 1 - ftp'd the "skins" folder to host - did not fix. 2 - ftp'd the entire 6.0.5 upgrade to host - did not fix. (Now I know many files that are NOT involved...)
  8. Thanks smither... do you ever sleep? Your question "What, specifically, is missing?" is right on point. What's missing was good habits on my part. I know one should make a copy of the file being modified before making the changes... but, it was such a small and simple modification... Technically I do not know the answer to your question. I was using the admin rich text editor to change out the slider pics and kaboom! All of a sudden there was no rotation and two pics stacked one on top of the other. I had ftp'd the new piccs into the proper folder and was editing (attempting) the pic names in admin. This is my test bed. I can just delete it and totally reinstall if necessary...(then use good backup practices).
  9. Holy crap...I just made the same "blank"up.!! Any chance your son will share the file name to copy over? I have two installations ongoing - different names and different servers. One is a test bed, the other is for tried and true stuff - so I have a clean set of foundation files available... It also appears that the 6.0.5 upgrade folder (unzipped) contains everything i should need. Will overwriting the entire foundation folder be advisable?
  10. You, sir, are absolutely amazing!!! You are my new hero. That worked!!! Thanks very much
  11. Built a cube cart store in 2005 for a client. Now, almost 10 years later I get to do it again. My first comment is "WOW, this is nice!!!" (CC V6) I am up and running version 6.0.5 and adding product. I cannot figure out how to set a product up with "options". Example: One product has a choice of 4 foot nets and also 8 foot nets. Naturally, there is a price difference. I want the one product listing to have the choice available for the buyer to select. I have chased my tail all day to no success. If this is not the correct place to ask, "tell me where to go"... Thanks in advance!
  12. Design is impressive - I like it. I also see the right column shifted down in IE6 on product pages, but not on the home page. This problem does not exist in FF...
  13. You gotta have GD running on your apache server in order to have thumbnails created automatically by CubeCart. Yes, you can work around this, by uploading the "big image" to /images/uploads directory, then making the thumbnail yourself, and uploading it to the images/uploads/thumbs directory...But, this is a hassel! Hosting is too cheap to go through all this. My advice is to change to a hosting company that is familiar with CubeCart (or at least will install GD). Look at ".org" forum. There you will find some approved offers of assistance and hosting.
  14. Your site is coming up for me... http://www.photosivan.com
  15. Backups available? I'd start by restoring to when it worked. Add the mods one at a time, and test after each one.
  16. Need the url to your store. Looks like a typo...
  17. If you have a manually installed CC3 existing cart that is working, with it's own database full of products, IMO, you do not want to use fantastico to try to upgrade it. I'm not sure that this can even be done, because Fantastico "remembers" anything it has installed on your server. But, if you want to try this, backup everything well - especially the sql database. This can get slippery for most of us. I would upgrade manually. Fantastico is going to overwrite all files - including any modded files. Yes, you can subsequently upload the custom skins. Fantastico is great. In that it installs CC3, and creates the sql database all at the same time. (Remenber, there are database changes between some of the upgrades.)
  18. This list of requirements is listed on the front page of cubecart.com: Requirements: PHP 4.1.1 + (Scripting Language) MySQL 3.23 + (Database Server) GD 1.6 + (Image Library) Optional in v3 <<-- How so? Linux / Unix recommended I have two hosting companies, one with GD (2) enabled, and one without GD. The "with" server has no problems with uploading images, and creating thumbnails. In fact, everything seems to work fine with the CC3 installation. The "without" server generates the following error when attempting to upload images for Categories or Products. Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagecreatefromjpeg() in /home2/veetsbar/public_html/gd-test/classes/gd.inc.php on line 49 Interesting, even though I get the error, the image still does upload. So, trying to "use existing image" to get around this, and continue adding the new product, I get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagecreatefromjpeg() in /home2/veetsbar/public_html/gd-test/classes/gd.inc.php on line 49 Having set the "without" server installation of CC3 to GD=N/A (since there is no GD), does allow for the uploading of a product image, but no thumbnail is created. This, I consider to be unsat. So, is GD optional? If so, how does one work without it? I think thumbnails are necessary. http://www.veetsbar.com/gd-test/ is "without" server http://www.bamabar.com/gd-test/ is "with" server.
  19. That is a mod available at www.cubecart.org.
  20. Very interesting... I see the empty band near the top in IE6, and, toggeling F11 closes it up, or re-opens it. I have never seen this before. Looking at the site in Firefox/1.5.0.7, the site looks fine - no empty band. The go button looks better, but has an issue. In FF, there is a black "-" (dash) to the immediate left, and centered in line with the orange button. In IE6, the dash is immediately above the left side of the orange button. Never seen the "F11" issue...
  21. Unless you intentionally re-designed the file structure, your thumbnails are in this folder: http://www.hesaysshesays.co.uk/images/uploads/thumbs/ You can use your ftp program to do this.
  22. Delete the original thumbnail before uploading the replacement of the exact same name. Also, play with the new (replacement) thumbnail size. It will probably need to be pretty close to the original thumbnail size, or you are going to have "fit" problems. <edited to add the following line> You will be better off using your ftp program for this.
  23. Checkout the cubecart.org forums. That is where the "mods" are found. The following link may be some help for you: http://www.cubecart.org/forums/index.php?a...ils&f_id=23
  24. Hey new here as well, but I did just that a few minutes ago (upped from .10 to .12). So I guess the answer is yes you can jump up two versions. The only thing different I did was, after I loaded all the files(used the latest 3.0.12.zip), I uploaded this first: "upload upgrade/scripts/3.0.{6-10}-3.0.11/upgrade.php to the store root." I ran it, then I uploaded the very latest 3.0.12 upgrade.php. Clicked upgrade. Done. Zero Errors. Hope that helps. Above all take your time and think it out. Can anyone point me to where the list of changes are? I really don't see anything significant in the versions(mods, SEO, etc.). Also do we is there an area where we can get a hint/eta of the next version? Many Thanks, MCreative One important line of instruction is : a. Upload every file to the server replacing your existing ones excluding: includes/global.inc.php install/ language/*/home.inc.php (If you have made changes.) It sounds to me like your global.inc.php file was overwritten
