franklinveaux
I'm migrating away from ZenCart and have just installed CubeCart. My payment processor (NMI) supports CubeCart and has provided me with a payment module, though they do not have a module in the extensions marketplace. I've used dozens of shopping carts, and I can not for the life of me figure out how to install a module in CubeCart without using the Flash installation. Uploading it to the modules/gateway directory does nothing. I have looked at about 60 tutorials for CubeCart online. Every one of them says "click on the Modules menu, then choose Gateways." CubeCart includes neither a Modules menu nor a Gateway link. And imagine my surprise when I discover there is no set of documentation for CubeCart. How do I install a payment gateway module that is not present in the extensions marketplace? This does not seem like it should be this difficult. And am I missing something, or is there really no set of documentation for CubeCart?
havenswift-hosting
Hi You must be looking at very old links - if you have manually uploaded the gateway to the modules/gateway directory, then in your admin, navigate to Manage Extensions. There isnt comprehensive documentation for CubeCart although when in admin, there is always a help option which does give quite a few pointers Ian
franklinveaux
Unfortunately, uploading the module to modules/gateways and then navigating to Manage Extensions does not show the payment extension. And, equally unfortunately, there's basically nothing on the Web with documentation for any version of CubeCart beyond version 3. I really want to use CubeCart, but the lack of documentation looks like it's going to be a dealbreaker for me. I've already invested quite a lot of time trying to get this payment module to work, and the fact that there's no documentation does not look good for the future of the software. After watching how the ZenCart developers are struggling, I want to leave ZenCart for a solution that is well-supported and well-documented. If the module doesn't show, then there has either been an error in the way it has been uploaded or there is a problem with the gateway module itself but without seeing it, that is difficult to say. In terms of support, CubeCart themselves offer excellent paid support, we offer free support for clients on our E-Commerce hosting plans and this forum provides free and generally fast user contributed support

Perhaps it supports a much older version of CC, or has some server requirement not currently in place?
franklinveaux
I've been in touch with my payment processor, and they do not support any version of CubeCart beyond version 4. I've looked at their payment module and it's quite simple; if there were better documentation for how to create payment modules for CubeCart 6, I could easily write a module. However, as I suspected, documentation is thin on the ground. Thank you for your assistance. I will not be migrating to CubeCart. It looks like an excellent shopping cart package, but the dismal state of documentation means I can not use it.
