cucatrap
Hi,I plan to host my ecommerce site with cubecart. At this moment, I use hostforlife.eu to host my primary site which is built with asp.net framework. As they are windows hosting provider, I'm curious whether I can install my ecommerce site on their windows server environment. Anyone here ever to install cubecart on windows server? Could you please advise steps and requirements to install in on windows server? Thank you
havenswift-hosting
HiA few people have sites running using WAMP on their own PC's but these are mainly for development / testing purposes and while these are reported to (mostly) work OK, CubeCart is designed for Linux based systems so why shoehorn CubeCart onto a Windows server. This also assumes that you would find a Windows server hosting company that would accommodate the requirements assuming you arent looking to hosting the live site yourself. My suggestion would be to find a reliable Linux based hosting company and if you are interested in chatting further, we are the only specialist CubeCart hosting company around (regardless of others that advertise CubeCart hosting but are all general hosting companies with no specialist expertise). We offer a large number of extras and benefits that no other company does and currently host a very large number of CubeCart sites ranging from small startups to multi-million pound / dollar turnover businesses.Ian
bsmither
Welcome cucatrap! Glad to see you made it to the forums. The latest versions of CubeCart do very well on a WAMP stack. (Although, I have never actually built a server from WAMP, I have always installed each component separately, and use several different web servers.)I have just three issues to deal with and none are CubeCart related - but will affect CubeCart's performance:cURL to localhost on a Hiawatha web serverMySQL not discriminating between upper/lowercase database table namesPHP-FPM not being availableThis has just been discovered: forums.cubecart.com/topic/50423-xampp/ Edited October 20, 2015 by bsmither Update for CC607 and CC608
