Shari Marie
I forgot what it was called. I didn't think I would like it so I deleted it. Any chance I can get it back? I thought I would experiment with it.
bsmither
This is the BXSlider. CubeCart's Foundation skin will always have this functionality enabled. To use it, this HTML will show it: <ul class="bxslider"> <li><img src="skins/foundation/images/examples/slide4.jpg" title="Promotional Message One" /></li> <li><img src="skins/foundation/images/examples/slide5.jpg" /></li> <li><img src="skins/foundation/images/examples/slide6.jpg" title="Promotional Message Two" /></li> <li><img src="skins/foundation/images/examples/slide7.jpg" title="Promotional Message Three" /></li> </ul> When editing the HomePage document, switch the editor into Source mode. This will make it easier to add the above HTML.
Shari Marie
WOW you are fast. Thank you. So, I can add it anywhere in the home page doc? Oh, so its not available with the Kurouto skin? Maybe I only thought I deleted it. I thought it was part of all of the skins.
bsmither
That HTML can go anywhere: a document (the HomePage document, for example), a Category description, or a Product description. You do not need to create a new document, per se. The HTML can be added to an existing document. But if you want to experiment, try it on a new document that you can delete if necessary. Also, make sure you accurately identify where the images are located. The images, by default, should be 1000 wide by 300 tall pixels. Trickyjimz
I have been trying to add this to my current theme but all it appears to do is add one banner under another when I add more then one?
bsmither
Probably with a small bullet dot to the left side of the image. This indicates that the call to the javascript plugin isn't being made, the javascript plugin isn't being loaded, or some other part of javascript is crashing. In your current theme, if not the Foundation skin, you will need to add this HTML: In the <head> section: <link href="{$STORE_URL}/skins/{$SKIN_FOLDER}/css/jquery.bxslider.css" rel="stylesheet"> Near the bottom of the <body> section: <script src="{$STORE_URL}/skins/{$SKIN_FOLDER}/js/vendor/jquery.bxslider.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> And this needs to be after the above: <script> {literal} $('.bxslider').bxSlider({auto:true,captions:true}); {/literal} </script> These files can be found in the included Foundation skin. Copy them to the appropriate folder of your skin in use.
keat
I've not seen this feature before, is it hiding somewhere ?
bsmither
It is a feature of the Foundation skin. CubeCart is not aware of it. A skin can have whatever the skin designer wants. A stock CubeCart package comes with the Foundation skin, and the sample Homepage document has a slideshow.
