dave
I have lots of products. When I want to upload images in bulk I have wait for the file manager to process the listing and display thumbnail before I can move to the upload section. Is the anyway to by pass this or a better way of managing a large number of images ? I see I can create folders in the file manager section but does it not still just upload all the images to the same place? I see nowhere in the "add image" to select a folder to upload to, am I missing something?
bsmither
You can FTP a number of images to the /images/source/ folder (with sub-folders. Then, in admin, Images (FileManager), click the Update File List tab.
cqpbert
everything depends on where you are in the files tab. If you are in the "root" the creating a folder will place it in the root, uploading a file will place it in the root. So if you want to upload a file to a folder named child in the root then these are the steps: while in the root on the files tab, click the create folder tab. Make new folder named child. click the files tab, child folder should now be there. double click the child folder, this should put you in the child folder now hit the upload tab. browse for the files to upload, that should be in the child folder. Click the files tab to see you have the files. click return to parent to get to the root directory. as an alternate to bsmither ftp suggestion, if you have access to your files through your host, you can directly upload the files through your host file manager. It seems to me they are then just magically there.
