detectorman
HI All, I have suddenly started to get a lot of spam product reviews. I have new recaptcha activated and this works fine on the contact form but does not appear at all on the product review page. CC6.08 Galaxy skin (but still the same with foundation skin) Any advice would be appreciated. Dave
Al Brookbanks
Hmmmm I wonder if the new Google Recaptcha has been circumvented now.
detectorman
Thanks Al for the reply. new Google recaptcha appears on the contact form and works but does not appear on product reviews which can be just submitted without validation. bsmither
Please be aware that once a reCaptcha has been solved anywhere, the "session" remembers this and does not challenge the visitor anymore for the duration of that "session". A session will eventually time out, and is based on cookies. So, just to make sure you have a fresh session, kill the cookies to your site. Dirty Butter
So how did you fix the spam on Reviews issue?
detectorman
Thanks to bsmither - It wasn't broken. Just delete session cookies and recaptcha appears. Dave
Dirty Butter
But are you actually getting an increase in spam? The session cookies situation just explains why people who have already proved they are human do not have to do it again during that session.
