  1. Absolutely and it looks far more consistent in terms of design while keeping the customer's trust. If a website keeps changing style on different pages, you start wondering where you are and whether you should trust that company when it comes to entering your personal and card details. I know I would.
  2. Hi there, No worries, this is almost exactly the way I do it with Cubecat V4 ;-) but it would be great if Cubecart could make it automated like other carts do. That would save so much time for us all users :-) S.

  4. Hi all, and my wish list continues .... incomplete orders, ie pending orders for which payment has not come through for whatever reason and abandoned carts. Today, as there is no function for this in Cubecart, we send follow-up emails ourselves one by one. It is time consuming but we recover so many sales that we have to do it. I know that this function can be automated as it is offered by other carts. At the moment, we do it two ways. When it is a pending order, we have one email template for that and when we see a customer that fully registered but did not place any order, which we qualify as abandoned cart, we have a different email template too.   5. Hi, Thank you all for your help. To answer to bsmither, it is not a question of reloading into the database. It is a question of purely exporting the data for other business purposes including the very painful exercise of stock take. With several colours combinations and sizes per item, we have to write everything by hand and then open every single product stock page to make sure the Cubecart stock is in line with the physical stock. It is crazy but no choice because Cubecart does not currently provide a decent stock export file with all product options. So I am very glad that this request will be looked into. Thank you. Sandrine

  7. Hi Why is the category menu (top horizontal dynamic one) disappears when you are in the basket or checkout pages ? It then finally re-appears at the end of processing an order. It does not make sense and from a customer's point of view, it is off putting. It looks like we are being transferred to another site thus risk of losing the customer's trust at this stage and the resulting sales. Thanks Sandrine
  8. Hi, When you do an export catalogue, it does not include the product options therefore this function is redundant unless you sell products with no option. Any chance you think that this could be improved please ? Thanks Sandrine

  10. Hi Forgive me if this topic has been noted before but I was looking at the responsiveness of the Foundation skin on various devices. I created a test menu with 4 levels. No problem on desktop, IPad and mobile. However, with a small tablet like a HP Slate, smaller than IPad, we got problems. If I hold the tablet horizontally, it is fine, the drop down menu appears all fine and we navigate all fine. However, if I hold the table vertically, the screen does not adjust well, the menu does not work well and you cannot go anywhere. You are stuck. It managed to give me one menu level at the most :-( Any recommendations ? Tks
  11. Hi guys, I conquer with everyone above. I am currently testing V6.0.2 for an upgrade. I have done no modification whatsoever. I have just registered as a customer on my website, then added one product to my basket, clicked on checkout. It opens the address page automatically, you then enter your address, click on save and the page reloads itself, all your address data is lost and that's the end of it. You are stuck at this point. You cannot process your order. It looks like the address page is going into a loop. Thanks Sandrine

Morning Al, Thanks for your reply on a Saturday morning (!), much appreciated as slightly stressed out .... when you refer to index.php and admin.php files, are they the "main" ones or the ones of a sub directory like includes or others ? bsmither, thank you for your reply too, great to see that people on the forum are here to help even over the week-end.   14. Hello, We are just experiencing a sudden software licence error on our existing live store. Our admin is completely down, this is a Cubecart 4. We never ever faced such issue before in the past four years and nothing has been amended in our core files recently which could explain it. Here is the message when we try to log into our admin: Software License Error #8 Software License Key has been disabled. Status: includes/extra folder exists and is writable. includes/extra/key.php doesn't exist! Note: The key.php file can be deleted at anytime and the store will attempt to regenerate it. Your software license key is held in the includes/global.inc.php file. Solution: Please contact our sales staff and they will investigate this for you. ------------------------------------------------------- Our hosting company has tried to upload a back file of the key but as soon as it is done and the page is refreshed, the file disappeared and clearly the store cannot regenerate it. We are quite desperate especially happening on a Friday evening !!! Can anyone help us here ? Many thanks Sandrine
  15. Hi bsmither, Thank you for your reply. I played a bit more with the categories and added a 3rd and 4th level sub cat. Actually you can forget what I said that it was happening with only sub cat 1. Just created cat 2 with 3 sub cat levels and all URLs are wrong so no logic into the pattern. I also made sure it did not add any Custom SEO URL Path. I created the sub category, saved it, re-opened it and indeed the Custom SEO URL Path automatically created by Cubecart was wrong. So being a coding issue, how long do you think it will take for having it resolved ? Many thanks Sandrine

Hi, Currently exploring CC5 with the Crosshatch skin and noticed an issue with the URL writing of the categories, as such: - cat 1 - > URL witing is fine, ie domain name/cat 1 - sub category 1 - > URL is wrong it should be domain name/cat 1/sub cat 1 but instead you get URL domain name/sub cat 1 - sub sub category 1 -> URL is fine ie domain name/cat 1/sub cat 1/sub sub cat 1 So it is happening only with the 1st sub cat level, 2 levels of sub cat and the URL is correct. I also went on a live store of a business using Crosshatch and noticed that they had the same issue. As I am most likely to use this skin, do you know how it can be corrected ? Thank you. Sandrine
  17. Hello, I hope one of you will be able to assist as I assume I will not be the only one in this situation. I use Cubecart 4.4.2 and worldpay as gateway. I received an email regarding important changes taking place with Worldpay which will be affecting the back end of the website and possibly the connection with Worldpay. I do not take any payment transactions on my site. All are redirected on Worldpay platform which then automatically sends a payment update to Cubecart which triggers payment acknowledgement email and all. I contacted Worldpay who told me that I needed to check with Cubecart. The email reads as (I replaced all the wordlpay addresses as XXXX being unsure whether this type of information should be released in the public domain): "Please read the below information carefully and where appropriate, make the necessary changes by 30 April 2013 to continue to connect to our Payment Service. Failure to make these changes could mean that you are unable to process payments through WorldPay. What changes do I need to make? If your system receives automatic updates from WorldPay when shoppers make payments on your website or by telephone and you choose to restrict domain names, please ensure that you are using the following domain names: XXXXXX If you use IP addresses instead of domain names to submit http, XML or Remote Administration requests to WorldPay, please change your connection to use domain-name-based URLs instead. If you use HTML form posts: Test environment: XXXX Production environment: XXXXX If you use XML requests: Test environment: XXXX Production environment: XXXX If you use Remote Administration: Test environment: XXXX Production environment: XXXX If your website or internet connection is restricted, you will need to speak to your technical contacts that control your Domain Name Service (DNS). Now I understand that all v3 and V4 are not technically supported any longer but surely for changes as critically as this, Cubecart people should be able to provide some feedback as to how to address this change.   18. Hello I am puzzled by some behaviours here and so I hope that someone at Cubecart can bring some light to the following observations. I am using 4.4.2. My store (thenauticalcompany.com) has been live for 12 days. I know you are going to say it is short to draw any conclusion but I also have a 18 months content site doing very well and I got to understand a few things with google webmasters and analytics. I have submitted the usual xml sitemap to Google, yahoo and bing with no reported issues. I also created a sitemap on my site. I listed all my products on google shopping with no problem. I also left my robots file accessible to everyone to start with. ON GOOGLE (bear in mind that google visits my product page links every single day): - used a 301 redirect to resolve the issue between root domain and index.php page, obviously will need time to adjust. - I would like to understand why google indexes in priority all the non-priority Side Documents pages. The other day I created a links page and within 24 hours it was indexed. Yesterday created the sitemap in "sitedocuments" and within 4 hours, Google had found it ..... in my log I could see that Goggle went to the robots file and straight to the new "SiteDocuments" page and that new page was not even in the sitemap.xml. - In SiteDocuments, if you put a meta title, google then combines the Meta Title page with the title of the SiteDocument. As such my page called About us on my website becomes, "The Nautical Company - About us - About Us" - it also indexes all the other useless pages as such search, contact us, etc. How can I stop that ? - it also indexed one with https, how can I stop this SEO duplicate before it goes too far .... - out of about 20 categories, it obviously indexed the 3 that had the least or no product yet in it but no others ... is it because there is less content and so quicker to crawl ... - out of 24 products, it indexed only one although it keeps crawling all the product pages links every single day .... In Google Webmasters tools, no error nor crawling issues reported. I would like to understand from Cubecart why the Site Documents are obviously so easily indexed and not products or categories. There must be a reason. It looks to me that despite several attempts, Google does not manage to index thus is there a "blockage" somewhere ? ON YAHOO: - my homepage is listed with a title that I do not even have on any of my pages. It is close to that of one category but not identical either. So how can this possible ? - yahoo is crawling nearly every day but only the homepage with the wrong title is indexed yet. ON BING: homepage indexed properly no problem. Does not crawl often but nothing surprisingly, same with my content website. Before posting, I searched in vain for the possible causes and so I do hope someone will be able to help. The Google issues do concern me greatly as my products are not getting listed on web search so reduced business exposure. Thank you very much. Sandrine

  20. Hi After further investigation, I am re-writing the problem here with Cubecart 4.4.2: 1. The {IMG_SPAMBOT} does not work with IE6 but all fine with IE7, IE8, firefox and other browsers. Now I read a bit about the problem and the last thread on the subject at http://bugs.cubecart.com/print_bug_page.php?bug_id=1619 led to think that the issue resolved itself ..... ?? I am obviously very concerned about it as no spambot means no sales, no contact form and no reviews. 2. The recaptcha coding below found in several templates like view product, invoice address, tell a friend, reviews, etc simply does not work. <!-- BEGIN: recaptcha --> <p style="text-align:right;"> <strong style="float: left;">{LANG_SPAMBOT}</strong><br /> {FILE "content/recaptcha.tpl"} </p> <!-- END: recaptcha --> Totally inexistant. I moved things around a bit, added some text in between, remove lang_spambot, then the content/recaptcha but nothing changed, in fact regardless of what I do nothing appeared if put between <!-- BEGIN: recaptcha --> and <!-- END: recaptcha --> However if I remove the coding <!-- BEGIN: recaptcha --> and <!-- END: recaptcha --> and leave the coding in between, the text is now visible on webpages but the links are not functioning. The recaptcha JS are not launching. Now I did this little fix, although not an expert, I came up with the following and it works fine for me for reloading the text although do not know what to do for audio: <!-- BEGIN: spambot --> <tr><td>&nbsp;</td> <td><br/>{IMG_SPAMBOT}</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top"><strong>{TXT_SPAMBOT}</strong></td> <td><input name="spamcode" type="text" class="textbox" value="" size="5" maxlength="5" />&nbsp;(simply enter the characters showing in the picture above.   21. Hi, I am using 4.4.2. Checking the "view stats" function, I came across this fatal error for the daily sales stats. "Fatal error: Call to undefined function cal_days_in_month() in /home/.../public_html/store/admin/sources/stats/sales.month.inc.php on line 70" Here is the code on line 70 : $daysInCurMonth = cal_days_in_month(CAL_GREGORIAN, substr($sqlMonth,2,2), "20".substr($sqlMonth,0,2)); Would somebody be able to help here please ? ALL RESOLVED ===================== Hi, I am using version 4.4.2 and I have been trying to set up certain shipping modules but I am experiencing all kinds of issues: - With Royal Mail, I constantly get Error 1001 instead of getting the checkout page, and so regardless of the number of items even when the weight was set for 1kg and the item is 1kg. - then tried the "Per item" module, works all fine but not flexible for different countries - tried the "Per weight", gets the same errors as with Royal Mail. I must be doing something wrong surely but really cannot see where. Can anyone assist me ? Thanks Sandrine
  23. This is a good question, I have not worked out it myself, I get the same. Ok the URL is not perfect but from a SEO point of view, you get your keywords listed. Either this is it or maybe there is a commercial mod to fix it ? Can anyone else answer this one ?
  24. Thanks Robsta, found the commercial mod to solve it but I do not understand the logic here of offering product options if you cannot link it to the stock. The option function is totally redundant then. Sounds to me like the Cubecart developers forgot to finish the job properly .... would be nice if they were to fix it in future versions .... In the meantime, I will have to buy the mod. Thanks.
