  1. 5.2.4 release supports PayPal HTTP 1.1 protocol as per the release announcement
  2. All of those three lines are comment lines so wont make any difference although the fact that you are seeing character differences like that could indicate that there are other differences which may or may not be visible - it is difficult to say without seeing the files but it could be an issue with your FTP client and the upload method or it could be a hosting issue. Good that they are willing to move you but still amazed that any company is running any server on systems that are that old !
  3. Glad that you have now been able to complete the upgrade although it would be useful to know what malware software your hosting company is using that was deleting this file on upload - can you ask your hosting company and are you able to tell us what hosting company you are using Thanks Ian
  4. In the most recent releases of V5, we have noticed that the includes/functions.inc.php trips some of our malware security measures that we use to protect against people uploading files containing malware. We have the settings set at a suitable level to warn for this file but maybe your hosting company has them set even higher and is quarantining this file hence you not be able to see it - you will need to speak to them
  5. Hi Nicola I am not familiar with that error but it sounds like either your access to the CubeCart servers is being blocked which seems unlikely or the ability to save the zip file containing the 5.2.4 files cannot be saved which could be a hosting / account permissions issue. Incidentally, the versions of PHP, MySQL and Apache that are running on the server where your website is hosted are extremely old and contain a large number of known security issues. Thanks Ian
  6. Both of those are extremely old (4 or 5 years at least !) and not even supported any longer - you should definitely definitely get your hosting company to upgrade or better still move to a hosting company that specialises in CubeCart. The host may be willing to update the php and MySQL on that server although I would question why that hadnt been done before but you would need to check what the server requirements are for the specific version of that other CMS you are running before you ask
  7. That sounds more like a .htaccess redirect issue or a problem with the way the hosting is setup / configured ioncube should be installed at a server level by your hosting company and not left to users
  8. Hi The message indicates that the file store/includes/functions.inc.php doesnt exist so firstly you need to verify that this file is where it is supposed to be. As DB has already said, it would be useful to know what method you used to upgrade and also whether you have tried to upload the files manually using FTP since getting the error. Finally, if you took a backup of the database and files, then you will be able to restore those so you can get your store up and running again and then either you or somebody else can take a look at what the cause of the problem is Thanks Ian
  9. Hi John It would be very unusual for a hosting company to close down an account for any reason other than non-payment or serious violation of their Acceptable Use Policy but in both cases you (or your client) should have been informed. Now you have moved, then as long as the domain name hasnt changed (you dont give any details) there should be no problems. What errors or problems are you seeing - not being able to access the control panel could be because the domain has changed and so the licence isnt valid for the new domain name or it could be a host of other problems Regards Ian
  10. Hi Nicola You dont say the reason why it is impossible for you to upgrade from the control panel ? Thanks Ian
  11. The best way is to go to Maintenance | Upgrade and then force an upgrade as that downloads and installs the latest version from the CubeCart website I completely agree and dont understand why a new minor version isnt released - standard upgrade procedure is minor releases for any bug fixes that dont include new functionality !
  12. Hi Adam It is very likely to be in the main.php template file but could be caused by included javascript in other files as well - impossible to tell without looking at the code on your site Thanks Ian
  13. The category ID number is for internal record id and is not really seen outside of the admin interface so there is no real need to set this back although it can be done through phpMyAdmin by changing the AUTO_INCREMENT parameter for the category table to 0 Thanks Ian
  14. Hi Adam Have you tried the exact same process but using a standard unaltered skin to see if you get the same results ? This type of problem is typical of coding errors in a customised skin, so testing like this is the first thing we always do when our clients have problems like this. Another thread (that unfortunately has been prematurely locked before the reason could be added) is http://forums.cubecart.com/topic/47638-paypal-checkout-major-problem-with-usa-customers/ Having to click on the "Proceed" button in order to get taken to PayPal and also the problems reported with the county / state fields for countries that have zones set up for them (ie that problem is likely to have affected plenty of other countries and not just USA) is caused by javascript conflicts as both of these pieces of functionality use javascript. Thanks Ian
  15. If you are only updating one or a few columns for each of the 500 records, then you would be much better off creating a .sql file from the csv file which specifically does the updates and then executing those UPDATE statements through phpMyAdmin The general form of the command you need to use to update a single row's column: UPDATE my_table SET my_column='new value' WHERE something='some value'; Thanks Ian
  16. Hi The simplest way is to use the csv to generate a set of mysql commands to update the prices and then execute them through phpmyadmin Ian
  17. Hi CubeCart does have an interface of sorts to SagePay (Admin | External Software) so take a look at that to see whether it does what you need Thanks Ian
  18. Hi If it is a one-off exercise then it is simple to do via MySQL but if you want to update products on a regular basis then we often do this for clients using custom written scripts. Thanks Ian
  19. If the old site had been around for a while and you had pages that were indexed and ranked in Google then it is 100% definitely worth doing otherwise you lose all of the benefit of those old pages. Submitting a sitemap is certainly worth doing although that wont specifically help with creating 301's to preserve previously indexed ranking pages. Also be aware that CubeCart's sitemap has to be manually created and re-created (a very large number of people create it once and dont update it but Google and the other search engines will continue to see and pick it up if it exists !) and it also isnt a specialist sitemap generation product so doesnt include image / video / news sitemap files which are also extremely important if you have any of these on your site.
  20. There is a huge amount of information available online and a search in Google will give you more than you ever need. You will also be able to create redirects through your hosting control panel. Whichever way you do it, be careful though as it can cause problems with the site if not done 100% correctly even causing infinite loop problems causing the website to not display. The commands have to exactly correct and also positioned in the correct place within the .htaccess file or they will not work and can also cause other directives in the file to stop working. cPanel and Plesk (hosting control panels) are generally very poor at adding these in - the syntax is *usually* correct but they normally add them at the bottom of the file.
  21. hi kiat As bsmither said above it could be that your new V5 store is just settling down and creating all the various cache items - this is slow to start with but speeds up the usage dramatically when done. However, intermittent issues like that especially with the ACP is also often caused by poor quality hosting where the server has been oversold and is at or over it's capacity Thanks Ian
  22. You can create 301 redirect commands within your .htaccess file - one per old indexed url pointing to the new url.
  23. Heart Internet are one of the big hosting companies and not a specialist E-Commerce hosting company and known little or nothing about CubeCart. If your E-Commerce website is important to you and is a source of income then you need to be with a specialist
  24. We would always recommend integrating WordPress with CubeCart and have done this quite a number of times with great success
  25. There were problems with reaching several sub-domains of cubecart such as the cp.cubecart.com and support.cubecart.com sub-domains and also the licencing server for a period of time. We had several clients whose sites showed the same problem as they were trying to update the licencing while this problem was happening and for some reason the licence code was removed. All that was needed was for the licence code to be re-added again Thanks Ian
