You can simply fix the deprecated warning messages that are being generated or upgrade your current installation to V5 which if you are not concerned about the mods you have installed might be the best way forward but be aware that you will need to use a new skin, either one of the supplied core skins or one from a 3rd party Ian
  2. While it is true that most CubeCart installations wouldnt need these and in fact in many Shared Hosting setups they couldnt be installed, it is amazing that your hosting company didnt know what these are ?? Thanks Ian
  3. Admin | Store Settings then Features tab - then change "Order status for admin email notifications" from Processing to Pending if you want to be notified when an order is placed. While set to Processing you get an email when it is changed to that status, which is generally when the order is paid for, which most store owners want to know about but it does also depend on what payment gateways you are using Thanks Ian
  4. Why not simply do an upgrade on a copy of the CC3 database and then use phpMyAdminto extract the records for those 20 orders from the newly converted CC5 version and then input them into the target CC5 database ? Thanks Ian

  6. This is a different issue - the original problem as reported in that post was quickly fixed by Al - this is different ! Al, I am getting this as well ! AVG is pretty good and rarely reports false positives but difficult if nothing is showing !
  7. hi Chris Sorry for the tardy reply, I didn't get an email notifying me of your reply and certainly dont get onto these forums every day now ! Thanks for the details of where the problem was and that issue (and the same issue with two other V5 payment gateways) have now had the paths corrected and therefore fixed ! We don't have an annual fee on the vast majority of our mods / plugins - the only time we do is when there is likely to be changes over time enforced due to API changes or increased functionality both of which Amazon have done several times already. The licencing system that we use, does use a "key file" tied to the domain very similar to the system that CC does and I can confidently say that it is at least as sophisticated as theirs ! I am not sure what "phone home" systems you have come across or used before but there is absolutely no security risk whatsoever and it has no bearing at all on PCI-DSS compliance either - if that was the case then every CubeCart installation would fail PCI compliance which kind of defeats the purpose of having an E-Commerce platform ! We are not "just" a CubeCart mod / plugin / skin developer but we run a well established web hosting business and security is paramount not just on all servers used by clients (whether shared or dedicated) but especially so on the server hosting our own website and would not have introduced a licencing system for what is a relatively small side to the business that had security implications Thanks for your help with the product paths !   8. Hi You say you are changing hosting providers but are you also changing the url as you refer to a "new url". Without more information it is impossible to help although I can see that the url in your signature is up and running although is very slow to resolve and load Thanks Ian
  9. Hi Chris Not sure which link you think is not working as I cannot see any issues - can you please confirm and will correct if necessary. Maybe not the best forum to respond to your points but as you raised them here, I'll answer them for you here as well ! If you or anyone else does have any further questions then I would ask that they are taken out of this forum and we can be contacted directly via our website. Recurring annual fee - this is common place for many mods especially for the more complicated ones and covers on-going support (should developers be expected to provide free support forever ?) and access to future upgrades (3rd party payment gateways especially quite often make changes over time). Licencing - again in common with many developers including CubeCart themselves, our products are licenced and do callbacks to our licencing servers. This is an unfortunate necessity because even with the silly prices that are charged for mods, a large number of attempts are made to steal, copy or use mods multiple times. Our licencing system is extremely robust and is part of our much larger hosting platform - we also have local key functionality built in which would prevent any interruption to mod functionality even in the unlikely circumstance of there being downtime of our hosting environment.   10. Hi The Google Analytics conversion tracking code had to be completely rewritten in order to get it to work within CubeCart - the new code will be in release 5.2 due soon. As well as core file changes, it does mean changes to the code within the content.receipt.php file for all skins Thanks Ian
  11. Hi I can get normal Google Analytics working with no problems but has anyone managed to get E-Commerce conversion tracking working ? Standard analytics works regardless of skin or payment gateway but cannot get any conversions recorded whatever combination is tried - this is on a couple of client sites and also our own test site. Have been going backwards and forwards with the CubeCart team and they say that all the code is there and *should* work but it plainly doesnt So has anyone else tried / got this to work ? Thanks Ian

Hi Just to let you all know that Al has rewritten parts of the SagePay form payment gateway so that you have a choice or using AES encryption instead of the previously used XOR - we have tested this new release (which will be available in in 5.1.5) and it works perfectly in our test store plus both of our client sites ! Thanks to Al for his hard work sorting this out when he was struggling to reproduce it ! Ian

  17. Considering how long I have been around and working with CubeCart, I have also never heard of this or personally seen it in action either - maybe it has happened without my knowledge. Whilst it isnt ever likely to be an issue for our company (try as hard as we do to log support ticket to keep Bill and Milos busy - we dont want them getting bored now do we - the number of support credits we get with licence purchases for clients easily exceeds the number we use especially as we answer / fix most queries from our clients before it gets that far) I can see that this would be much more important to somebody just starting out and the CubeCart team should make much more of this as it is actually a great selling point and would help identify and fix actual bugs. I agree that this is a problem for the built in SagePay "Form" payment gateway module as supplied - we are getting this in our own test store and also on two different client accounts to the extent that both have had to stop using SagePay. I did report this and have an open ticket with CubeCart support. Every once in a while the order will have the status updated but the vast majority are never updated from Pending to processing

There is no need to run the setup in order to upgrade to 5.1.0 - there is a small line in the release notes on this forum that Al published to say that upgrades are "Automatic" which maybe could have been explained in a bit more detail ! I simply uploaded 5.1.0 files over the current installation and then logged back in as admin user and store was 5.1.0 ! 5.1.0 also now includes a built in upgrade facility within the store which I think was what he was actually talking about !
  20. I think I can better buy some credits then, and let the upgrade do for me, by cubecart I dont think the CubeCart team are doing upgrades at the moment but even if they did it for you they would only do a standard upgrade which would lose any mods you have installed. Regards Ian
  21. The store emails are changed by using the Admin | Languages | en | Email Templates option - this only allows you to make fairly basic changes to the wording. There is an Email Template Mod over on the commercial CubeCartForums.org website that allows you to create full html based emails for all the CubeCart built-in emails and also add a huge amount of extra information from the database records by using data replacement tags which you can position anywhere in your email. regards Ian

There is also a comprehensive Email Template mod available over at CubeCartForums which allow you to replace all built in CubeCart emails with html based templates which can include an extremely large range of fields - for example all data from the order tables can be included in any of the order related emails Thanks Ian
  23. What exact version of CubeCart are you running and are you using an unchanged version of the built in SagePay Form payment gateway that is supplied with the software ? We use SagePay for a lot of our clients - both the standard SagePay Form module that comes with CubeCart and also our own SagePay Direct gateway and have not heard of this issue with anyone else Ian
  24. John Have you logged a support ticket with Fast Hosts ? There are a couple of reasons why this could be happening but it is something you will need to check and sort through them. Unfortunately they might take the attitude that it is a "software application" issue which they dont support as part of the hosting Ian
