  1. Hi Has anyone that has been experiencing these issues tried these changes in a live store and have any feedback. We have advised customers not to use PayPal Express for many years now due to the confusing process and if this helps streamline then that has got tobe good although my personal preference is to never use PayPal to make or receive payments as their customer service and attitude to store owners is terrible. @Al - I know there have been quite a few recent releases but do you have plans for a quick 5.2.9 release to include this and the big fix for Amazon payment gateway when using product options ? Thanks for your effort and hard work on these two issues this last week ! Thanks Ian
  2. Chris What specific posts / chatter are you talking about ? We have a lot of clients using Vector on a variety of 5.2.X versions including 5.2.8 and are not aware of any specific Vector related problems except the Chrome SSL issue which is fixed by the small code change detailed here : http://my.shopdev.co.uk/knowledgebase/26/Secure-pages-dont-display-properly-in-chrome.html CubeCart has added a hook for this but the Vector skin hasnt been updated yet to use this. By the way, support is great from shopdev when it happens but the normal 2 / 3 days wait time of the past has been more like 3 / 4 weeks of late Thanks Ian
  3. Hi I am not aware of a Payseal module for CubeCart so unless your bank can provide one (which should come with simple installations) then you will need to have the gateway written for you Thanks Ian
  4. Fantastically quick work providing a resolution for this problem by Al - just in time as well as one client that uses the Amazon gateway contacted us yesterday for advice on setting up product options ! Add my thanks to Brian for the help provided Ian
  5. Hi Quite a few of our customers use the Amazon module but luckily none of them with product options (yet !). This module was supposedly one the best tested modules created for CubeCart as it had to go through external validation by Amazon engineers themselves before being released, however we had already found and fixed (working with Al) a small bug in older versions that caused major problems so sounds like there is another much bigger one here. Have you already reported this as a ticket and if so can you let me know what the ticket number is and I will follow this up myself with the CubeCart team Thanks Ian
  6. Hi There are some additional payment gateway modules available free of charge from a few of the payment companies and also a larger number of additional modules available from various third party companies like ourselves. However if you cannot find that the one you are looking for (you dont give any clue what payment gateway you want !) has alreadybeen written, then you can pay a third party developer to write this for you. This is not a cheap option and payment gateways are a little bit more of a specialised area for CubeCart programming - we have developed in excess of 20 different gateways for V4 and V5 though Thanks Ian
  7. Hi Chris Not having access to the CubeCart licence code does not stop you making changes to your CubeCart site except you would not be able to move the site to use a different domain although moving hosting on the same domain would be fine. As far as the email passwords are concerned, it is purely a hosting issue and CubeCart will not be able to help. You need access into your hosting control panel where there will be a section to setup / delete / modify email accounts and you will be able to change the passwords for all accounts there and probably see all server settings that will be required as well Thanks Ian
  8. Hi If by free, you mean V3 then this is out of support (with CubeCart directly anyway). You could upgrade to V5 (which is generally a great idea anyway regardless of this latest problem) and get some support ticket credits which could be used if it is still not working but as you dont say what "isnt working" it is not possible to say whether this would sort your problems. Be aware though that upgrading will lose all mods that you may have installed and also that skins are not compatible so you would need to choose a new skin Thanks Ian
  9. Strictly speaking a sales ticket is only for pre-sales enquiries. When you purchased your CubeCart licence it would have come with a number of free support tickets so if you log in into your account at http://cp.cubecart.com you will then be able to use one of these to log a ticket - if what you report is indeed found to be a bug, then the ticket is credited back to your account (they take the view that it shouldn't cost you to report a bug in the software !) I agree with Brian that it is good to have a record of true bugs in these forums to make a public record that helps other users - however, I believe the best way is if a reference to the github issue submission is published showing the fix. That way people can use the source code changes that will form part of the next release rather than possibly have a customised "fix" Thanks Ian
  10. Turbo should only be used with Blueprint and if you do have it installed, it should be disabled if activating Vector skin Ian
  11. Hi Jared Dont know about Midphase although have not specifically heard of any problems using CubeCart with them. However, it would be helpful if you could tell us what exact problems you are having with the installation Thanks Ian
  12. Hi Andy Log in as an administrator for your store, click on Languages which is under Settings and then choose which language you want to change (starting with the store default) and then find the language string as above. Note, if you allow customers to change languages, then you should make the change for each enabled language. Thanks Ian
  13. Hi Peter So was the problem that you hadnt implemented the phpMailer fix ? Ian
  14. Hi Peter I asked regarding the SMTP settings as you didnt mention it and you would be amazed the number of people that try to use SMTP without filling them in ! So are you saying that the settings havent changed and used to work fine on your xampp installation on 5.2.5 but now dont on 5.2.7 - if that is the case and everything else is equal then sounds like something in 5.2.7 is causing it. Have you tried the same settings on a 5.2.7 store on Linux hosting - we have plenty of clients using SMTP on both of these CubeCart versions without an issue so could very well be a xampp specific issue but as we would never use that, I cant really say. One other thing to look at - if 5.2.7 is working on a Linux install but with the same settings, it isnt on xampp, is what php versions are you running in both environments ? Thanks Ian
  15. Hi Peter Interested in your statement that "In Australia we use SMTP to send emails" - plenty of people use php mail() as well ! To use SMTP you will also need to correctly fill in the other email related settings (php mail doesnt need any of these) and as you said that you had changed nothing else then that is likely to be your problem. However as you are using xampp, you also need to ensure that SMTP is configured correctly and works outside of CubeCart - have you tested sending emails via SMTP via another application to ensure this is working first ? On a Linux server, things like SMTP will be configured for you by the server admin which is why we always recommend doing any testing or development in the same environment as you are going to deploy into. Thanks Ian
  16. Hi Andy Do you use stock control on any products that are not POA - if so then changing the "Out of Stock" message would affect those as well. If you dont use stock control then your solution would work and you will need to change the language message (or messages if you use multiple languages). The messages are (almost) all very logically named and arranged into sub-categories so you would find message "out_of_stock" under the "Catalogue - Phrases displayed within the product inventory pages" section Thanks Ian
  17. Hi Would be very interested to know what the outcome of this is - Magic Quotes has been deprecated for a long time now and will be completely removed from php soon but there should be no problem switching it off if it was previously on on your server Thanks Ian
  18. Hi This can happen if your hosting server is overloaded although there are other reasons - as Brian said, check through you error_log file and see what you can find Thanks Ian
  19. Hi There was absolutely no need to delete your skin and that can be restored but the good news is that your website is not infected. Superfish is AdWare that is installed as an extension in your browser as a result of installing some other free software and has been around for a few years now. You say you have good anti-virus software but you would hve ctually "agreed" to install this although often very easy to miss this when installing other software. You would also be very surprised how many things like this many of the top established anti-virus packages miss. It can be uninstalled by following any number of guides online such as http://malwaretips.com/blogs/superfish-window-shopper-adware/ but I run MalwareBytes AntiMalWare software on top of anti-virus and the combination catches everything. Thanks Ian
  20. This has nothing to do with the mcrypt issue - you need to access the admin side of your store via an https url All stores should really use a ssl regardless of what payment gateway is used but if you are taking and storing credit card details then this MUST be done using ssl encrypted pages Ian
  21. The code changes do fix the warning message which was incorrectly being shown - it had no effect on operation of the gateway or any other parts of the site. Sounds like you have bigger problems but without details, impossible to say
  22. Thanks DB for your vote and post - shame a few others on here cant spare 30 seconds to do the same. Oh well ! Have a good weekend
  23. Hi There is no way of doing this with standard CubeCart - that is either one or the other at a full store level. The best way would be to write a plugin that would allow you to specify which products fit into this category. There is another way that you may be able to achieve this (although unsure what you mean by having an RFD ?) by using stock control on those products, setting stock level to zero and not allowing out of stock purchases but it is a bit of a messy way of achieving it Thanks Ian
