  1. You have been hacked and the reason you couldn't log in was because they changed your password. Until you upgrade or at least implement the security fixes, you will continue to be a target - we are seeing a lot of automated hacking attempts against all CubeCart sites. The CCSS looks like part of the CubeCart Security Suite - do you have that installed ? You need to check the snippets installed as the rogue one could be doing literally anything. Also check other settings especially payment gateways as they can often change the email address on store PayPal settings. ANY site on a version less than the current one is open to this security issue and needs to upgrade immediately Ian
  2. What is the exact version of CubeCart are you running - is it the latest one ? If you are now in, check the Staff Access Log to see if there are any recent logins that you don't recognize, especially if the admin name is blank or the login is from an unusual IP address Ian
  3. This is a server / hosting issue rather than a CubeCart one - take a look at http://www.thomasmonaco.com/pclzip-lib-php-missing-zlib-extensions/ for a possible explanation of the cause and a solution.
  4. Which country are you in ? I assume that you are in an EU country and registered for VAT in that country. If so then you will need to setup each country within the EU using that VAT rate for that country - see http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/resources/documents/taxation/vat/how_vat_works/rates/vat_rates_en.pdf or alternatively http://www.vatlive.com/vat-rates/european-vat-rates/eu-vat-rates/ for details. For most countries / products you will be able to use the Standard rate for that country. You have to hold product pricing excluding VAT (not including as you have done) so that when products are added to the basket, the correct rate of tax is added based on the customer's address. There are then a couple of great plugins you can add to help with European VAT https://www.cubecart.com/extensions/plugins/show-prices-with-and-without-tax-/-vat https://www.cubecart.com/extensions/plugins/europe-vat-automated-vat-number-check-and-processing Ian
  5. You have access to MySQL commands via the Maintenance > Query Database option or alternatively via phpMyAdmin which will be available from your hosting control panel such as cPanel Ian
  6. Unless you have very small websites (and even then on many hosting company's configuration) then the CubeCart backup utility will time out because it takes longer than he server settings allow a process to run. Cheaper hosting packages will generally have lower limits and also be slower servers and so processes will take longer but even then, on even reasonably large sites even th best hosting probably won't be able to cope. DB - doing a copy of the database through cPanel / phpMyAdmin is very quick and simple and always advisable regardless of other backups are available although not strictly needed as you are hosted with us. We use the R1Soft backup system and you can restore individual files, a directory or your whole hosting account and also a database to any 8-hourly point in time in the last week ! Ian
  7. Hi Mike There isn't a way to do this in standard CubeCart and no third party plugins that provide the functionality either. However, why not simply zip up all files together into one package and then attach that ? Ian
  8. OK that version is not too old although it depends on the final point release number (and 5.4 did still reach end of life in Sept 2015) but as you are able to create a user with no problem using the same (assuming it is exactly the same !) email address then it shows the problem isnt with the email address or CubeCart per se.
  9. It is true that the overall speed of a website is affected by a large number of different factors and some can have a lot more of an impact than others - however, there is never any reason (outside of development changes to skins perhaps) to ever not have caching switched on ! File based will always be quicker than having caching turned off and the differences can be more pronounced at times when the MySQL server process is being more heavily used. Best bet is to find a hosting company that allows you to use memcached (as we do ) as this is considerable quicker than file based caching.
  10. I can also confirm this - can you find out what version of PHP is running on the server and let us know ? It is amazing how many businesses are running extremely old versions of PHP, MySQL and Apache. There can sometimes be semi-valid reasons (although this is often to cater for old applications which should also be upgraded as they will certainly have even more serious security issues) for running 5.3 but at the very least you should have 5.3.29 which was the latest version and then many hosting servers are still running 5.2.X and often then not the latest versions
  11. As of a few minutes ago, this plugin is also now available from the Marketplace for anyone else that may be interested
  12. There is a configuration for that ! Admin > Store Settings > Layout tab - change "Display Empty Categories" to Yes ! Ian
  13. This plugin is now available from the Extension Marketplace
  14. This is a very common method used to test site moves without affecting the live site or indeed being able to access a site after it has been migrated to a new host / server but before DNS propagation has been completed - we use it all of the time when migrating / testing sites. Simple but extremely useful I concur with Al, the method is good and pretty foolproof if done correctly. My guess also would be different PHP version or different modules enabled and multibyte is a good bet. In this situation we would probably have done it differently by ensuring a fully up to date R1Soft backup for the whole server was in place and then doing a Bare Metal Restore to the new server - that way you are 100% guaranteed that everything is exactly the same right down to OS setup and configuration. Ian
  15. Your developer is not being truthful and / or doesn't really know what he is talking about. A standard upgrade does not lose all SEO. If you had some form of customized urls in your V4 store that do not translate to V6 urls then these should have been recorded and custom entries entered to replace the V6 ones or alternatively a bunch of 301 redirects could have been setup. There is never ANY technical reason during any upgrade or even a complete move from one E-Commerce package to another to lose SERPS - only a lack of knowledge Ian
  16. I.e. a PM as I originally suggested, would be much better !
  17. A PM direct to Al is probably a much better way of reporting this - he is the only one that has the required access to the forums
  18. There is no admin configuration option for this and what is being displayed is the thumbnail of the primary image. This is useful if you do actually have multiple images as it allows you to switch between all available images but pointless if there is only one image I don't have access to the foundation skin source at the moment to provide the solution but have created a github issue as I believe this should be changed in the core skin https://github.com/cubecart/v6/issues/1075 Ian
  19. What do you mean by "making submissions" - what exactly are you doing ? This also doesn't look like a CubeCart error but more like a hosting issue
  20. Adding preceding letters like that to the product name may work but is very untidy and inelegant although there isn't currently a way within standard CubeCart to do what you want. We are currently working on a "Sorting" plugin that aims to provide method of sorting anything within CubeCart that isn't already sorted and this will be included
  21. Thanks for the clarification and also for your PM
  22. Are you looking for somebody to re-do the integration with CubeCart instead of UberCart or are you looking for somebody to complete the integration using UberCart (in which case you would be better off looking for developers elsewhere)
  23. On what page are you saying they are not displayed - do you have an example rule in CubeCart ? Options will display on the product page but as standard will not display under the product on a category listing page and if you try and add a product to the cart which has mandatory options, then you will get that message. We have a plugin that displays and allows the selection of product options on the category listing page which gets around this and speeds up customers interaction with your site. You can see it in operation using drop down and radio selection on our demo site at https://www.cubecart-demo.co.uk/cubecart-plugins.html It can be purchased directly from us from https://www.havenswift-hosting.co.uk/clients/cart.php?gid=19 Ian
  24. Simply go into the Admin Countries & Zones option and untick the Status flag for any that you don't wish to be displayed. We are about to release an "All in One" sorting plugin that will allow you to sort any list of items that doesn't already have this functionality and the countries in these drop down lists will be included so that if most of your customers come from one or two countries, you can shown these at the top of the list Ian
  25. It is possible that they made a mistake when configuring the setting although the default is 1000 so sounds like they specifically changed it in which case they will probably not change it back although that does seem a stupidly low value. Many of the cheaper end hosts are reducing a whole variety of php and server properties in their ever increasing need to cram as many sites onto each of their servers as possible - it will be interesting to see how they respond, let's hope it was a typo on their part as that level will cause multiple other problems as well Ian
