  1. In the skin's config.xml, find the <image reference="category">. It is set for 800 pixels on the longest dimension. Change this to 900. It will auto-scale down to fit the container (which is 848 px wide). Next, you will need to find the CSS rule (I do not know where it would be.): .cat-hdr-img img { margin: 0px auto 5px; } Change to: .cat-hdr-img img { margin: 0 0 5px; } This CSS change will remove the margin that the browser adds to either side of the image, in equal part, to center the image in the slightly wider container. Be sure to clear Cubecart's cache.

  2. The developer will probably / should be releasing a new version of the skin to take account of all of the skin changes included in this recent version. However, if you are using a modified version, then that update will not automatically apply to your store and you should chat to the developer about this. If you dont make all the front end skin changes then you wont be able to take advantage of any fixes / new functionality that has been added - you may say that you dont need this functionality but it is always best to stay fully up to date because the situation simply gets worse and worse with each upgrade that is released - this is the problem with having custom changes

  3. Try this: In includes/ckeditor/config.js, at the bottom, find: config.allowedContent = true; }; Change to: config.allowedContent = true; config.coreStyles_italic = {element : 'em'}; config.extraAllowedContent = 'i[*]{*}(*)'; }; CKEDITOR.dtd.$removeEmpty = '{i: 0}'; The same added statements can be used for other HTML tags used in unorthodox ways.

  4. Email routing will automatically be set to "Automatic" or sometimes "Local Mail Exchanger" which in 99.99% of cases will be the same thing. You only need to set it to Remote if you are using external MX records pointing away from your hosting company which is effectively what Godaddy are forcing you to do by closing email ports. Some people choose to use gmail or other email service providers, but why should you have to ? Disabling php mail() is standard practice now for security reasons (WHM built in security advisor flags this as a high security risk if it is enabled !) and SMTP should always be used and configured to use SSL / TLS. Email sent via SMTP is much more secure, more likely to be delivered and not rejected or put into spam and isnt complicated to use. So much so, I would recommend that php mail() is removed as an option in CubeCart as it is very likely to disappear as an option in the near future Ian

  5. For anyone that uses git with CubeCart (or any other packages for that matter), cPanel have been adding a huge amount of functionality which will be included in V68 - see https://features.cpanel.net/topic/allow-users-to-install-websites-from-version-control V68 is already in Edge release status so most people will not have access to it yet, but V68 should be into general release in a few months (V66 has just been released in the last week) Ian

  8. Since upgrading to version 6.5.2 we have the following issue: For reference our shop is located at https://www.airbornesappers.org.uk/shop/index.php We do have products with a Sale price entered, which are less than retail and greater than zero In Store Settings - Features we have Sales Mode set to Per Product, with Number of sale items to display set to 20 I don't know if the upgrade to 6.5.2 has caused this, all I can say is that prior to the upgrade Sale Items were displayed in the Sale Items category I've searched other topics and checked as much as I know what to check but can't fix this error Any help appreciated Thank you

  9. Hm. We can see that right away CubeCart is told to use fr-FR, but the phrases are not coming from that language pack. (See Debug Messages[0]) Please examine the following and try the suggested action: In admin, Languages, take note of any actual entries in the Domain column (not the slightly greyed-out suggested examples). If there are actual entries, blank them out and Save. Have CubeCart clear its internal cache. Did anything change?

  10. That makes sense. I think I'll keep making the change instead of changing the rate rule. Thanks!

  11. In admin, Email Templates, click the language of the email you wish to edit. On the next screen, on the HTML Content tab, note that in the list of Available Macros, there is {$DATA.customer_comments}. Add this to the HTML of the email wherever you wish. For example: Find: <p><a href="{$DATA.link}">{$DATA.link}</a></p> Add after: <p>Your comments about this order: &quot;{$DATA.customer_comments}&quot;</p>

  14. According to this issue in the Github: https://github.com/cubecart/v6/issues/2754 a zone cannot be created against countries and counties/states that are not enabled. However, the question remains, what if a country is later disabled, after a zone has been created for it? Will CubeCart still offer any shipping to a customer whose delivery address contains a disabled country/county/state? Regardless, a means to enable/disable each already created zone is a nice idea. Be back soon.

  18. In Catalogue Mode, customers are not even able to add items to a shopping basket. So, there is no way for CubeCart to log what the customer wanted. The admin can try to not enable any Payment Gateways. A shopping basket should be created and an Order Summary created, which the store owner can review and amend in CubeCart's administrative backend. But there will be no means for the customer to actually pay for the items via CubeCart.

  20. Recently had to change the password on a friend's Outlook 2013 (which does not do OAuth like Thunderbird). Now, I have not actually done this for my development installations of CubeCart yet, but I have every expectation that this will work. What you need to do is to acquire an "app password" for your "less-than-secure" app (as Google puts it). See: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833 To do this, you will need a cell-phone. In your GMail account settings page, find the Security section. Enable "Two-step Verification". (This is not as bad as it sounds.) This is only to verify that the person doing this process is, in fact, you. Google will text a code when you begin the process of generating an app password. There should now be a new option in the "Signing in to Google" section for App Passwords. Select this option. On the App Password page, choose Select App, and for the name of the app, choose something like FettleBox Store (something in one or two words to describe what you are to use this app password for). Then choose Generate. The 16-digit number in a yellow banner is what you will enter in CubeCart's SMTP Password field (the banner shows spaces between each set of four digits that are not part of the password - do not include the spaces). This is all how it worked for Outlook 2013. I expect it to also work when wanting to use GMail as the SMTP server for CubeCart.

  25. Hi @radman420 Sounds odd, neither the CC6.4.1 update or the skin update would affect the visibility of the popular products section as from my knowledge nothing was changed in relation to that. This behaviour is not occurring on any of my test setups so not sure what the cause would be. Have you tried going to site settings > layout and clicking save , then clear your sites cache ? Also, if you right click on the area the box normally is then click "inspect" or "inspect element" can you any html code in the console panel that relates to the popular products? Thanks, NiteFox

  26. Please look at Store Settings, Features tab, at the bottom is a Miscellaneous section. Try having "Allow physical orders even if no shipping options are available" and "Disable initial shipping and tax estimates" are checked. We ask that you confirm that each product you sell -- digital only? -- has a digital downloadable file assigned to it. If CubeCart considers all products in the shopping basket as digital, no shipping is considered.

  28. Hey, By default the google analytics js is conditional to cookies been accepted so if you don't use the cookies notice or haven't accepted cookies then the code won't run. If you want to run google analytics regardless of if cookies have been accepted then you'll need to remove the conditional statement by skins > amzin > templates > element.google_analytics.php and remove line 1 and 13 like noted below: {if isset($smarty.cookies.accept_cookies) && $smarty.cookies.accept_cookies=='true'} <<< REMOVE THIS LINE {literal} <script> (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){ (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o), m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m) })(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga'); ga('create', '{/literal}{$ANALYTICS}{literal}', 'auto'); ga('set', 'anonymizeIp', true); ga('send', 'pageview'); </script> {/literal} {/if} <<< REMOVE THIS LINE

  31. Agreed - failed upgrades have been very common in the past when done via the built in upgrade option and often result in a mix of files from different versions - this will cause this type of problem. It has been covered in quite a few threads on here before and a manual upgrade would definitely solve it. Ian

  32. Provided that the digital file is publically accessible, in admin, Add/Edit Product, Digital tab, Custom File Path section, you may enter either a direct path to a folder on CubeCart's server, or a Full Web Address that points to anywhere on the Internet. If your AWS repository requires a login, that may pose an obstacle unless you know how to overcome it.

  38. While it is faster to upload the zip file and then extract after it has completed, you then need to add the additional steps of ensuring that (if you already have a renamed /admin_xxxxxx directory and admin_yyyyyy.php file), these need to be renamed as you will have a /admin directory and admin.php file from the zip extract and you will end up with multiple copies of both and mixed versions of files as so many on here have done. You also of course still need to run the /setup AFTER completing the rename Ian

  40. We are excited announce the release of CubeCart 6.2 which sports a number of fabulous new features. Maintenance release 6.1.15 is also available for those who are not ready or are not keen to make use of the new features. Massive thanks to all those who have tested and reported any 6.2 bugs. What's New in 6.2? Incremental order numbers (with dynamic prefix/suffix). #636 Tools to help with GDPR. #1892, #354 * Automatically minified and compressed HTML, CSS & JS. #1905 * Checkout state/county can be required, optional or disabled. #1870 * Invoice template editor tool. #1904 Caching improvements. #1536 Product category added to Google Analytics for eCommerce. #1859 * Order summary to show "guide" currency used. #1913 Ability to show hide site document titles. #1907 * Email log to show fail reason. #1899 Email configuration test to work prior to save. #1894 reCaptcha added to newsletter signup. #1891 * Colours added to admin control panel order statuses. #1888 Introduction of "Safe Mode". #892 Product dimensions (width, height & depth). #828 * Changed admin URL emailed on setup (if changed). #1314 "Continue Shopping" added to cart at all times. #1381 * Search redirect to product detail page for single result. #1427 Auto delete captured card details when order status changes from pending. #1886 Upgrade Instructions: https://support.cubecart.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/228/43/how-do-i-upgrade-from-cubecart-v6-to-latest-v6 Download: CubeCart-6.2.0.zip Download: CubeCart-6.1.15.zip 6.2 Release Notes - Please Read!! * These features will require skin updates if you do not use the default "Foundation" skin from the 6.2 release. This release has a clear cache on demand tool which significantly optimises the caching system and lowers server load. This means that inventory or configuration changes made in the admin control panel will not be reflected on the front end of the store until the "Clear Cache" button is clicked. This can be found at the top right hand side of every page of the admin control panel. We very much appreciate that this may be seen as an unwelcome new feature but the technical significance is worthy. Unless you have a critical change to make we suggest clearing the cache habitually at the end of each admin session. If the cache is not cleared it may take up to 24 hours for your changes to show. To help comply with GDPR CubeCart 6.2 now has "double opt-in" for email marketing signup and a tool to create a report of all customer data based on an email address. This can be found in the "Customer" section of the admin control panel under the "GDPR Report" tab. A customer can be "forgotten" by deleting their account, newsletter subscription, review(s) and any orders they may have placed. Please note that it may be a legal obligation to keep their order data on file if you have an existing financial contract. The GDPR report can be disclosed to your customer printed or saved as a PDF and/or used to help remove their data from the system. To be GDPR compliant please be sure to have a suitable privacy policy which should contain other such information such as what each site cookie does. Further information and support may be available from your local "Information Commissioner" such as the ICO (in the UK). GDPR is still a very confused and misunderstood subject of which there is no one solution for every business. We will prioritise further development to help compliance based on your feedback if merchants feel they still need extra tools.

  42. We are excited to release CubeCart 6.2.0-b1 which sports a number of fabulous new features. This is a short beta release to ensure any possible issues are found and fixed before being production ready. It also gives our developer community time to test their extensions for compatibility. This is a beta release which may not be suitable for live production stores. We hope to release 6.2.0 final in the next two weeks. The 6.1 branch will continue to be developed and we anticipate 6.1.15 to be available early next week. Please help us by posting any bug findings at GitHub. Please note that our office will be closed of the long Easter bank holiday weekend and no technical support will be available on Friday 30th or Monday 2nd.

  45. When a customer registers for an account, that registrant could instantly be assigned to a customer group. The group would have been created before-hand, and some or all products would have had a price schedule created for them. There is no percentage difference between one group and any other group (yet). Each group has a distinct and independent price schedule. Still, I reiterate, once a customer registers, even at checkout, but then resumes shopping, the group's price schedule is shown everywhere to that customer. Is this acceptable according to the contract you have with the product supplier? However, I know that someone (Noodleman?) is or has been working on something related. There is a new parameter in the function that gets an item's price, that when true, will return the full retail price regardless of any other consideration. If it was Noodleman who asked for this to be added to the core code, you should drop him a note to ask if he has anything on the shelf ready to install.

  46. I think the Consignee is the recipient of the delivery. So, what may be happening is that for the customer's order, during checkout, and before entering the delivery address info, CubeCart is contacting UPS for a rate request -- estimated at this point. Now, the latest versions of CubeCart has two options: suppress getting shipping estimates until the delivery address is known, or use the store's physical address as the estimated delivery address. The first is at admin, Store Settings, Features tab, "Disable initial shipping & tax estimates" is checked. The second is at admin, Store Settings, General tab, "Zip Code" (or Postal Code). Make sure there is a postal code in this field. Hopefully choosing either of these options will stop the confusing error message about no shipping methods available.
