  1. In the skin's config.xml, find the <image reference="category">. It is set for 800 pixels on the longest dimension. Change this to 900. It will auto-scale down to fit the container (which is 848 px wide). Next, you will need to find the CSS rule (I do not know where it would be.): .cat-hdr-img img { margin: 0px auto 5px; } Change to: .cat-hdr-img img { margin: 0 0 5px; } This CSS change will remove the margin that the browser adds to either side of the image, in equal part, to center the image in the slightly wider container. Be sure to clear Cubecart's cache.

  2. The developer will probably / should be releasing a new version of the skin to take account of all of the skin changes included in this recent version. However, if you are using a modified version, then that update will not automatically apply to your store and you should chat to the developer about this. If you dont make all the front end skin changes then you wont be able to take advantage of any fixes / new functionality that has been added - you may say that you dont need this functionality but it is always best to stay fully up to date because the situation simply gets worse and worse with each upgrade that is released - this is the problem with having custom changes

  7. Why, why, why you have to be so smart @bsmither? That's exactly what the issue was, since initially they both had the same route /powerball the system added a re-direct when leaving blank, creating the redirection. Is there a module, under product page, tab #product spec, to have custom stuff? I could jam everything into the actual product page but it would be cool to add some custom stuff, in our case we don't need to specify the code or if it's new or used. Thanks again kid, Happy Thanksgiving of whatever you celebrate today!

  8. That makes sense. I think I'll keep making the change instead of changing the rate rule. Thanks!

  9. Image compression? CubeCart takes a source image, typically PNG or JPG, 750x750 pixels for example, then creates sized variants specific to the intended layout area and page. The source is uploaded to /images/source/, and CubeCart's variants are saved in /images/cache/. The specific variants are coded in the skin's config.xml file. Take a look a Foundation's config.xml file in a programmer's text editor. Here, you will find image nodes with the reference attribute indicating where the image is used. The product page uses 'medium' and 'gallery'. The maximum attribute specifies the length of the longest side, maintaining proportionality, but never longer than the original. (That is, if the source is 450x450 pixels, variants could be smaller, but will never be larger than that.) And, of course, the browser can scale the image to fit the layout's placement if the HTML coding allows it. Note also the quality attribute. For many image formats, there is the 'compression ratio', expressed as a 'quality' -- 100 being very lightly compressed, if at all, and 10 looking like crap. I have visited web pages that initially show a super-blurry image (high compression), then eventually, under javascript control, fetches a high-quality (large filesize) image to replace the blurry one. Currently, CubeCart does not do this.

  11. I am not sure what I have done wrong, this still does not seem to work. I have even rebooted my puter. I assume somehow I am not able to "reload resources" I am off to find how to do that. On my laptop I have to press Fn button to get to function keys. When I hit Shift+Fn+F5 I get something that looks like it wants to record something likw a macro or something. I should say I am on Firefox. WORKS PERFECT!!! I had to use CTRL+Fn+F5 Now the images work as described by bsmither. I will say this is a bit tedious and hope it gets fixed in the source soon. But until then bsmither is always awesome!!!

  12. Nice idea! In admin, Maintenance, Rebuild tab, there is a means to "Reset all product view counts". "Views" is one of the choices on what criteria to base a query for "Best Sellers" (aka Popular Products). But resetting Views might be overkill for some. I have in mind a text box next to Store Settings, Layout tab, "Source data for popular products" saying, "Within the past [###] days." This won't be a date range, but will this suffice for your needs?

It is a big job to do it fully so have no release date yet but will be in the first half (hopefully first quarter) of next year. If you want to register as a client at our website and open a support ticket asking about this, we are interested in people’s views on functionality and we can keep you updated regarding progress

  17. An enhancement regarding Gift Cards allows: the admin to assign a collection of images to the Gift Card system. One image is the default (master). the admin to have a text editor to add more content to the Gift Card purchase page. the customer to choose an image when purchasing a Gift Card. for the additional content to appear on the Gift Card purchase page. At checkout, a small-sized image of the chosen image appears in the list of basket items. For a physical Gift Card, the card can be (pre)printed with the chosen image. For an emailed notice, the HTML content can now include a link to the image the customer chose. For example, the collection of images may include birthday, Mother's day, Winter holiday, Valentine's day, Thank You, and other themes. This enhancement is not a plugin. It involves hard code edits.

  20. For step D, be sure that the updated plugins (that needs the ionCube that works with PHP 7.4) are not enabled. Otherwise, there is still the situation of an ionCube-encoded plugin wanting a later version of ionCube that is not running under PHP 5.6. Otherwise, the above is the sequence of steps I would suggest.

  21. In Catalogue Mode, customers are not even able to add items to a shopping basket. So, there is no way for CubeCart to log what the customer wanted. The admin can try to not enable any Payment Gateways. A shopping basket should be created and an Order Summary created, which the store owner can review and amend in CubeCart's administrative backend. But there will be no means for the customer to actually pay for the items via CubeCart.

  22. I think nearly all of the log entries matching the examples shown in the document provided, relate to the parts of the skin template system you have stripped out (Language chooser, Featured box, Sale Items box, Newsletter box, Live Help, Debug, and Skin chooser). Looking at the source HTML delivered to my browser, I see that there is a removed text entry field for the person's phone number. This will cause the form to not even be submitted if the form validation fails. In the file /skins/ho/js/3.cubecart.validate.js, at lines 66-97, there are the rules for the contact form. Remove 92-94: }, 'contact[phone]': { phone: $('#validate_phone').text() Remove 83-85: }, 'contact[phone]': { phone: true What I do not know is this: How smart is the Validator? If the Validator does not find a text entry input field having the name contact['phone'], even with a rule referencing it, will the validator still submit the form? According to this, the Validator does not check non-existing fields (from five years ago): https://forum.jquery.com/topic/jquery-validate-check-that-a-field-exists-before-validating In other words, I do not know if this edit will fix things. FYI: The core code in cubecart.class.php, says only that 'email', 'name', 'subject', 'enquiry' are the only required fields. So maybe an issue will get posted in the Github that compares the Validator rule for the phone being required, but the core code does not.

  24. Hi, I just tried this again with with PayPal Commerce 1.6.2 and still no joy, therefore I downloaded the 1.6.2 code to get a better look .. And this is what I found - /** * CubeCart v6 * ======================================== * CubeCart is a registered trade mark of CubeCart Limited * Copyright CubeCart Limited 2019. All rights reserved. * UK Private Limited Company No. 5323904 * ======================================== * Web: http://www.cubecart.com * Email: [email protected] * License: GPL-3.0 http://opensource.org/licenses/GPL-3.0 */ function ppcp_body_js($tpl_output, Smarty_Internal_Template $template) { $skins = $GLOBALS['gui']->getSkinData()['info']; // $skin = $GLOBALS['gui']->getSkinData(); if (($pp_config = $GLOBALS['cache']->read('pp_config.'.$skins['name'])) === false) { if(file_exists('modules/plugins/paypal_commerce/config.custom.json')) { $pp_config = file_get_contents('modules/plugins/paypal_commerce/config.custom.json'); } else if(file_exists('modules/plugins/paypal_commerce/config.'.$skins['name'].'.json')) { $pp_config = file_get_contents('modules/plugins/paypal_commerce/config.'.$skins['name'].'.json'); } else { $pp_config = file_get_contents('modules/plugins/paypal_commerce/config.foundation.json'); } $GLOBALS['cache']->write($pp_config, 'pp_config.'.$skins['name']); } if(isset($GLOBALS['cart']->basket['total']) && $GLOBALS['cart']->basket['total'] > 0) { $pp_amount = $GLOBALS['cart']->basket['total']; } else { $pp_amount = "null"; } return preg_replace('/\<\/body\>/i','<script id="pp_config" type="application/json">'.$pp_config.'</script><script> var pp_config = JSON.parse(document.getElementById(\'pp_config\').textContent) var pp_amount = '.$pp_amount.';</script></body>', $tpl_output); return $tpl_output; } $GLOBALS['smarty']->registerFilter("output","ppcp_body_js"); On about the third line of code you can see I have replaced a line. Now the thing is that this was never going to work the variable '$skin' is never referenced in the code so its clearly in error. The question is why did nobody else experience the same ? Its probably because, and this is just a guess, many other skins are strongly based upon the foundation skin, but as I say that's only a guess .. Anyway it seems to be working now but no production test yet.. Chris.

  26. PHP 7.2 stopped even receiving critical security updates over 1 1/2 years ago so running any site on this version is 100% not advised. You would be much better contacting @Noodleman directly via his website and simply asking for a 7.4 encoded version of them and ensuring you stay on the latest supported version of PHP Ian
    1 point
  27. It should, however it hasen't been updated since 2017. Which only means that, since it is encoded with ionCube, the encoded files must have been built with a matching version of the encoder for the version of PHP it is running under. Even though the current encoded files are built for "PHP 5.6 and above", this does not mean they will work on any version of PHP7 - which your hosting provider has likely configured your hosted account to use. The publisher, @Noodleman, will need to build encoded files for PHP 7.

  31. Hi, Without knowing anything about the images (size ect) you intend to use i can only give a vague example. Assuming the images you plan on using are all the same size/dimensions then you could do something like: 1) Upload the 4 images to your site (for the example below i've used square images and uploaded them to root > images > source ) 2) Admin > Documents > Select the document which is your homepage 3) Select the "Content" tab and then click the "Source" button on the text editor. 4) Add some html to display your image "buttons" - For the example i am using square images so layout might need changing if you use rectangular images. <div class="home-blocks"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-3"> <a href="http://www.google.com"> <img class="img-responsive" src="images/source/mens_sale.png" title="Shop Mens Sale" /> </a> </div> <div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-3"> <a href="http://www.google.com"> <img class="img-responsive" src="images/source/womens_sale.png" title="Shop Womens Sale" /> </a> </div> <div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-3"> <a href="http://www.google.com"> <img class="img-responsive" src="images/source/childrens_sale.png" title="Shop Childens Sale" /> </a> </div> <div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-3"> <a href="http://www.google.com"> <img class="img-responsive" src="images/source/clearance.png" title="Clearance Sale - All Stock Must Go!" /> </a> </div> </div> </div> 5) Add a small bit of css When adding custom css styling i recommend you create a custom css file so that they don't get lost during any updates. To create a custom css file go to skins > basix > css and make a copy of the cubecart.default.css file and rename it cubecart.custom.css Open cubecart.custom.css and add the following .home-blocks{ text-align:center; } .home-blocks a { display:inline-block; margin: 10px 0px; } .home-blocks a img{ max-width:100%; } @media (max-width: 767px){ .home-blocks .col-xs-12 { width: 50%; } } then go to skins > basix > templates > element.css.php and add <link rel="stylesheet" href="{$ROOT_PATH}skins/{$SKIN_FOLDER}/css/cubecart.custom.css"> And clear your site cache via your admin panel.

  32. Yes, indeed. Please understand what is happening: In admin Store Settings, observe the various tabs across the top: General, Features, Layout, Stock, Search Engines, etc. These tabs drive a javascript function that causes the related panel of info to acquire the CSS property that makes that panel "visible". All other panels of content are not displayed. When clicking the Save button, all of the form elements on all of the panels of content - visible and not - get sent from the browser. So, even when you are only changing one or two settings, the web form is still sending all of the form's elements from all of the panels - because Store Settings is, in fact, one very long form that only a part of it is visible at a time. Your browser's Developer Tools, Network tab can show you the details of what was POSTed to your site.

  33. Hi Lyd, If you edit the page/document via the admin panel "status" should be ticked and "Show link to document in storefront?" unticked. This should hide the link in the footer but leave the content accessible by the new nav link. If you are linking to a category, don't create a new page/document as stated in step 1. Simply just do step 2 and use the url for the category for the link. Thanks.

  36. Hi @radman420 That slider is just a basic bxslider banner slider set in the document content for the homepage which you modify via your admin panel. Firstly create your banners and upload them to your site, for example (images > source > slide_001.png) Banners should be of equal size Then, go to your admin panel and in the left-hand menu go to File Manager > Documents Then, select the document for the homepage OR create a new document On the document content section click the "source" button in the left corner and create a slider box by adding : <ul class="bxslider"> </ul> If you want your banner to link to a page or product, then use the following structure within the ul element above : <li> <a href="#LINK HERE#"> <img src="#IMAGE SRC HERE#" /> </a> </li> Replace the following: #LINK HERE# -- with the url you want it to goto #IMAGE SRC HERE# -- with the image source which for the example would be something like --> images/source/slide_001.png Then, repeat for each slide. If you just want your banner to displayed with no link, then use the following structure within the ul element above : <li> <img src="#IMAGE SRC HERE#" /> </li> So, your final content will look something like the following for a slider with linked images: <ul class="bxslider"> <li><a href="http://www.google.com"> <img src="images/source/slide_001.png" /> </a></li> <li><a href="http://www.google.com"> <img src="images/source/slide_002.png" /> </a></li> <li><a href="http://www.google.com"> <img src="images/source/slide_003.png" /> </a></li> <li><a href="http://www.google.com"> <img src="images/source/slide_004.png" /> </a></li> </ul> Then click save, make sure the document is set for Homepage and that the status option is checked. Might need to clear your sites cache. And that should be it.

  37. Hey @radman The W3W compatibility notice in the admin panel is cosmetic - Providing you enter your W3W info it will work as intended. It's just in the admin panel it looks for a certain skin file to determine whether or not its compatible, however for the updates i approached it differently so the certain skin file isn't there. As for the other issues, i can only assume something might have been edited incorrectly during your update, i can't seem to load your site (503 Service Unavailable) at the moment so i can't check whats going on.

  38. @traylor23 you are very welcome ! One takeaway is that you might want to look into the frequency and accessibility of backups your hosting company is doing. Minimum has to be full off-server backup once per day but even that for busy transactional sites can lead to massive data loss. As an example, we do hourly Continuous Data Protection backups !

  39. So, the browser did not find ORDER BY popularity DESC. The next step I would like for you to do is edit the skin template box.popular.php and at the very end of the file, add {debug}. Save the edited file. When you next ask for the Homepage, your browser will want to popup a window. Let it. (You may need to request the Homepage a second time if you need to give permission for the popup.) The popup contains all the variables assigned to the template. Scroll down to near the bottom and find $POPULAR in the left pane. If it is there, is there a value for it as shown in the right pane? It might be an array with 20 elements. (Do not post the array here. Just indicate if it is an array with 20 elements, or if the value is something else.)

  40. @radman420 by data issue i mean that it would appear no data (in this case Products) is been supplied to the $POPULAR variable which is used to load the popular products section. Since it appears to happen in both the Foundation and Amzin skin that would suggest that it isn't caused by the skins. All i can suggest is pop a message in Technical Help section as this is beyond a skin issue. Perhaps something went wrong during the CubeCart Update or a setting has changed. I'm running 6.4.1 with Amzin and Foundation and the popular box is loading fine so i'm not sure whats causing yours to not load since you updated.
    1 point
  41. Hey @radman420 In that case it would appear to be some sort of data issue then if it doesn't show in both Amzin or the foundation skin.

  43. Hi Rich, There will be an update for my skins at the weekend to cover changes in the latest version of CubeCart. As you have a modified version of the skin you can make use of the manual update guide to apply any front end updates you wish to add your site. As @havenswift-hosting says its best to keep upto date, especially with the cubecarts core script. However, ultimately that is your decision

  44. Hey, I can't offer any guarantees as i don't have access to the plugin and the developers demo site has been suspended (not sure if hes still active with cubecart). Looking at the plugin info and screenshots the only compatibility issues i predict is layout issues on the customer side. Providing the template side of things for the plugin are not encrypted this can be overcome by converting it over to bootstrap layout and adding any additional styling no problem.

If you want to run google analytics regardless of if cookies have been accepted then you'll need to remove the conditional statement by skins > amzin > templates > element.google_analytics.php and remove line 1 and 13 like noted below: {if isset($smarty.cookies.accept_cookies) && $smarty.cookies.accept_cookies=='true'} <<< REMOVE THIS LINE {literal} <script> (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){ (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o), m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m) })(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga'); ga('create', '{/literal}{$ANALYTICS}{literal}', 'auto'); ga('set', 'anonymizeIp', true); ga('send', 'pageview'); </script> {/literal} {/if} <<< REMOVE THIS LINE
